Spiked Beetles (Togezô) are a type of beetle first encountered up on Koholint Island in Link's Awakening. Under normal conditions, without enemies, a Spiked Beetle will crawl around a room at a leisurely pace. When it spots an intruder, it will spin toward the adversaries in hope of stabbing them to death with its razor-sharp carapace. With leverage, an object such as a shield can be used to flip it over, exposing its weak under-belly. Since their first appearance, Spiked Beetles have also been spotted in Oracle of Ages, Oracle of Seasons, and The Minish Cap.

A shield helps greatly against Spiked Beetles, as it is the only item capable of revealing their weak underbellies. However, in the Oracle Series, Link is also able to rid the monsters from his path by use of Gale Seeds. In The Minish Cap, Link can also use the Cane of Pacci to flip them over.
