In BotW, BotW is the name given to the category of most animals who harm and are hostile towards BotW. Most types of BotW have different variants that differ in strength or attacks.

Color variants consist of the basic BotW and then blue, black, and silver variants of that BotW, each with an increase in attack strength and health. While playing in BotW, a fifth color variant is added, gold BotW, which are even stronger than silver BotW. When just starting the game, the BotW encountered would consist mainly of basic BotW with occasional blue-variant BotW; a hidden tally of the BotW defeated is kept by the game, and when certain milestones are hit, the BotW scale-up to stronger color variants. For example, BotW would encounter regular BotW and occasional BotW when just barely awakening from the BotW, but by the time he frees a BotW, he is most-likely encountering BotW more often and is now encountering new BotW.

On top of color variants, elemental variants separate different BotW by elemental abilities; the three elemental variants include BotW, BotW, and BotW. BotW and BotW are the opposites of each other, and hitting a BotW-type BotW with an BotW-type BotW (or vice-versa) will instantly kill the BotW. For example, hitting an BotW with a BotW will instantly kill the BotW.

Furthermore, many BotW also have a skeletal variant that randomly appears at night to attack BotW called stal monsters. These include BotW, BotW, BotW, and BotW. Their bodies are counted as a separate entity from their skull, with the latter bearing the BotW's health bar. Generally speaking, skeletal BotW only drop first and second tier BotW and drop an arm in addition to their held BotW upon death.
The Beetle can be found inside the Skyview Temple after defeating a Stalfos in the central room located in the northern chamber. It is a small, SSHD, insect-like item that can be used to pick up distant objects such as Rupees or Hearts. The Beetle can also be used to sever the stems of Deku Babas, defeating them. Any item that the Beetle picks up will be returned to Link.

BotW
When Link uses the Beetle, the camera will follow behind it. The Beetle can then be steered by tilting the Wii Remote in the desired direction. If the item bumps into a wall or is hit by an enemy, it will be knocked down and return to Link. The Beetle flies for 30 seconds unless it flies too far away from Link, in which case the time will be cut short and the Beetle will return.
Boss
In addition to regular BotW, BotW can be encountered anywhere throughout at any time. BotW that can be encountered in include BotW, BotW, and BotW. Two elemental variants of BotW, BotW and BotW, reside in very cold and very hot climates, respectively. BotW and all the color variants of BotW can be found in the grassy plains that take up most of the BotW. Unlike the other two bosses, BotW can only be found in the BotW.

The rest of the BotW that make up the BotW category are encountered in one-time only battles; BotW, BotW, BotW, BotW, and BotW are fought in each BotW, BotW is fought in the BotW, and BotW is fought in BotW.
The Beetle can be upgraded to the SSHD in the Lanayru Desert, adding a mandible that is able to carry items like Bombs and drop them onto enemies. The SSHD, an optional upgrade available at the Scrap Shop in the SS, allows the Beetle to fly faster. The SSHD, another optional upgrade, enables the Beetle to fly much farther than before.

All BotW drop BotW when defeated, which are a class of BotW. BotW are grouped into three tiers, with the higher tiers only being dropped by BotW in higher color variant tiers. The Beetle can be found inside the Skyview Temple after defeating a Stalfos in the central room located in the northern chamber. It is a small, Flying, insect-like item that can be used to pick up distant objects such as Rupees or Hearts. The Beetle can also be used to sever the stems of Deku Babas, defeating them. Any item that the Beetle picks up will be returned to Link.

The Beetle can be upgraded to the Hook Beetle in the Lanayru Desert, adding a mandible that is able to carry items like Bombs and drop them onto enemies. The Quick Beetle, an optional upgrade available at the Scrap Shop in the Skyloft Bazaar, allows the Beetle to fly faster. The Tough Beetle, another optional upgrade, enables the Beetle to fly much farther than before.
