The desert start area features a large amount of Boons and tall dunes. A cavern links to the rocky shore of the desert, where the Water Lady is returning from the coast where she collected Water of Life. She gives Zelda her water, healing her, and mentions that the Fisherman got stuck in the region's most notable landmark; a massive fish carcass. If Zelda uses the Power Glove on the Boulder on top of the skull she'll free the Fisherman, and earn a key to the last house in Sakado, where he is going to have his new job as a blacksmith.
