The Slime is what certain enemies will transform into after sprinkling Magic Powder on them, or using the Quake Medallion in A Link to the Past.[1] Slimes are one of the weakest enemies in the game, Link can easily dispatch them with one slash of his sword, so this is quite handy when he is low on health and high on magic. Magic Powder is usually only effective on certain weaker enemies however, while the Quake magic will transform medium strength enemies into Slimes. Transforming a Deadrock into a Slime is the only way to defeat it in A Link to the Past, and using this trick on other enemies like Helmasaurs can make defeating them a lot easier. A Slime's behavior is very similar to that of a Zol.

Enemies that can be transformed into Slimes via Magic Powder:

Using Quake is usually far more effective however, and can even turn enemies like Hinox into Slimes.
