Template:Place The Thyphlo Ruins is a place in Breath of the Wild.
Overview
Located north of Great Hyrule Forest, the area is surrounded by a murky lake and shrouded in darkness that makes navigation impossible without a light source. The ruins can be entered from any side, though doing so will put Link at the entrance of the ruins. The entrance is located on the eastern side, connected by a bridge near a bird totem.
Upon entering, a voice speaks to Link and informs him of a Shrine deep within the ruins.[1] However, he will have to navigate the darkness within in order to reach it. This begins the "Shrouded Shrine" Shrine Quest. Near the beginning is a Torch that is needed if Link does not have one.
As Link makes his way through the darkness, he will find many bird-like Torches that he can light. These Torches serve as hints to find the way through. If Link follows the beaks of the Torches, he will end up at the location of the Shrine. Link will be attacked by swarms of Keese and Fire Keese. Link is able to utilize the fire of a Fire Keese to light his Torch. There are also wolves that lurk in the darkness and Stal enemies may also pop out of the ground regardless of the time of day. Many items can be found throughout the Thyphlo Ruins, such as Torches, Fire Rods, Luminous Stones and Silent Shrooms. Three Tresure Chests can be found on the way to the Shrine containing an Opal, an Amber and a Star Fragment.
Once Link reaches a pedestal near a set of unlit Torches, Link will spot a glowing sphere in the distance that is tethered to the necklace of a Blue Hinox. Link must defeat the Hinox in order to obtain the sphere. Placing the sphere on the pedestal will reveal the Ketoh Wawai Shrine and complete the Shrine Quest.
