Nat
Nat is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series.[2][3]
Biography
Breath of the Wild
Nat and is a Hylian woman who can be encountered at several locations throughout Hyrule. She and her sister, Meghyn, are hunting for Hearty Truffles.[4] They can be encountered in the Ginner Woods, along the Ternio Trail south of Foothill Stable, and in the Sarjon Woods, where they will be under attack by a pair of Bokoblins.
When attacked by a Bokoblin, Nat will run away in fear.[5][6][7] If Link speaks to her this time, she will be panicking about what to do and whether Meghyn is alright.[8][9] When Nat wakes up after being knocked unconscious by a Bokoblin, she complains about how she and Meghyn were ambushed.[10] Should a Bokoblin knock Meghyn unconscious, Nat will shout and beg her to wake up.[11][12]
Once Link defeats the Bokoblins, Nat will be relieved.[13] When Link approaches her, she asks if he is a "wandering do-gooder," giving him Food or Rupees as a reward.[14] She then resolves to return to hunting for Hearty Truffles.[15] After the situation has been resolved, she explains to Link and she and Nat are searching for Hearty Truffles, and she acknowledges that it is dangerous for them to do so.[4] However, when she thinks about the taste of Hearty Truffles, she decides to ignore the warnings.[16]
Nat and Meghyn then begin to scavenge for Hearty Truffles at the base of a nearby Tree, with Nat trying to calm herself with breathing techniques.[17] When Link approaches Nat, she explains that Hearty Truffles are capable of soothing one's fatigue and restoring their health.[18] She once again admits that it is dangerous for her and Meghyn, recalling that they have been attacked before.[19] Despite this, she believes that they will receive a great reward for the risks they take.[20] Meghyn then stands, reminding Nat that they should value their lives more than any Rupees they could make.[21] Nat argues that they will be fine, as they will either practice fighting or find Hearty Truffles.[22] Meghyn asserts that Nat will be the death of her.[23]
When Link speaks to Meghyn, she recounts telling Nat that their Hearty Truffle-hunting location would be dangerous, but she was unable to convince her due to her desire for Rupees.[24] Nat then snaps at Meghyn to continue their hunt, as they will not return home until they find any Truffles.[25] Meghyn sighs, but she ultimately agrees that Nat is right.[26]
