Great Bay appears as a stage in SSBM. The stage features the Marine Research Laboratory as the main platform. Great Bay also appears in the Nintendo crossover fighting game SSBM, however, it doesn't look identical to the way it appeared in Majora's Mask. Slight changes have been made, such as the Turtle being near the Marine Research Laboratory. The Turtle acts as a temporary platform, submerging under the water several times per match. Tingle also appears over the stage, acting as a temporary platform until the weight of the character standing on his balloon causes it to pop. The Moon can be seen in the background, and as the match continues, it slowly descends, not affecting the match in any way. The Four Giants then come and push the Moon back up to its original state.
Tingle makes a cameo appearance floating on a balloon that can be used as a platform. If a player stands long enough on the balloon, or it is pierced by an attack, it will burst and drop Tingle on the platform below. Eventually, Tingle will blow up another balloon.

Despite being in the middle of the ocean, none of the characters in Melee can swim, so the water is purely cosmetic.
The Four Giants and the Moon also make a cameo appearance in the background. As the fight progresses, the Moon will come closer to the ground. Eventually, the Four Giants will appear and stop the Moon, returning it to its original position.

Template:Place In Majora's Mask, Great Bay is the western region in the land of Termina. It is a large shore that makes home to the aquatic race of the Zoras, who live in the Zora Hall. Its hot weather, murky waters[1], and enemy-prone bays are some of the unpleasant characteristics of Great Bay[2]. The race of Gerudo Pirates are also found in Great Bay, and their fortress must be entered undercover.

Along with these two races, other creatures and people are found on their own in Great Bay. The fisherman who lives in a small hut on Great Bay Coast wants a photograph of a female Gerudo Pirate, and will allow Link to take his seahorse in exchange. He also offers to play a minigame which involves jumping between platforms where a Piece of Heart can be obtained.

Main Features

Great Bay Coast

Main article: Great Bay Coast

It's the main part of the region. Found in the coast is the home of a fisherman (who used to practice fishing until the waters became murky and unsafe) as well as an underground refuge full of spiders. The coast provides access to the other parts of the western region.

Marine Research Laboratory

Located some meters from the coast, it's where various marine biology experiments are carried out. Link finds here the tank in which he should place the Zora Eggs stolen from singer Lulu by the Gerudo pirates[3] from the northern fortress (see below).

Fisherman's Hut

Main article: Fisherman's Hut

This is where a veteran of fishing lives. He has a seahorse on sale.

Oceanside Spider House

It's a cursed, abandoned house full of Gold Skulltulas. It's east from the coast.

Pirates' Cove

Main article: Pirates' Fortress

This is the refuge of the dreaded Gerudo pirates[4]. Having an industrial appearance, it's a stronghold where the stolen Zora Eggs are held inside pools of water (although only four of the eggs are actually in the place, since the pirates lost the other three).

Pinnacle Rock

Main article: Pinnacle Rock

Found northwest from the coast, it's a formation of rocks filled with nothing but murky waters. Beneath the waves of these waters (deep under the rocks) is home to the Deep Pythons[5].

Zora Cape

Main article: Zora Cape

Found south from the coast, it's where a river ends its path towards the sea. It's full of rock elevations, and it's also where Link can find the rest of Great Bay's areas, including a Fairy Fountain.

Zora Hall

Main article: Zora Hall

Found inside the coral reef a few meters from the river, it's the congregation area for the aquatic race of the Zoras, as well as the home for the famous rock band The Indigo-Go's.

Great Bay Temple

Main article: Great Bay Temple

Being the only temple in Termina that isn't located inside a specific area (for example, Woodfall Temple is inside Woodfall), it's inaccessible to most people and surrounded by a very powerful cyclone of water.

Waterfall Rapids

Main article: Waterfall Rapids

Found east of Zora Cape, it's accessed behind the top of the river's waterfall[6]. It's the home of two beavers, who will race Link and, on the event of losing, will give away an Empty Bottle (after two races) and a Piece of Heart (after four).

Non-canon Appearances

The Great Bay stage from Super Smash Bros. Melee

Super Smash Bros. Melee

Great Bay appears as a stage in Super Smash Bros. Melee. The stage features the Marine Research Laboratory as the main platform. A rock platform stands to the left and the Turtle to the right; the palm trees on his back serve as two smaller platforms. After a while, the Turtle will hide underwater, reappearing after a set amount of time.

Tingle makes a cameo appearance floating on a balloon that can be used as a platform. If a player stands long enough on the balloon, or it is pierced by an attack, it will burst and drop Tingle on the platform below. Eventually, Tingle will blow up another balloon.

The Four Giants and the Moon also make a cameo appearance in the background. As the fight progresses, the Moon will come closer to the ground. Eventually, the Four Giants will appear and stop the Moon, returning it to its original position.
