It is possible that Irene is the descendant of Nabooru. The fact that her portrait is hidden in the Desert Palace and that she is a female could be hints at this, seeing as Nabooru  was a Gerudo, a race made completely of woman (with the exception of one male that is born every 100 years) that live in a desert region.

Template:Character Irene is a character in A Link Between Worlds. She is the apprentice of the witch who lives near Zora's Domain. She is also one of the Seven Sages.

Biography

Irene befriends Link early in his adventure, and offers to transport him to any weather vane he has activated. She gives Link a bell that he can ring at any time to call her. Irene offers her assistance after receiving an alarming fortune from the Fortune Teller in which she is told to "take care of green" in order to avoid the worst outcome.

Irene is attacked by Yuga and turned into a painting while at the Witch's House, sometime after Link has collected both the Pendant of Wisdom and Pendant of Power. When Link visits the Witch's House, the witch tells him how she was powerless to stop Yuga from taking Irene.

Even after her abductions, the bell Irene gave to Link continues to call her broom to pick up Link and fly him around Hyrule and later Lorule as well.

After Yuga obtains the Triforce of Power, Irene's painting is hidden inside the Desert Palace. Link rescues Irene after defeating Zaganaga, and she remains in the Chamber of Sages until the Triforce is returned to Hyrule. She then returns to the Witch's House to continue her training.

Irene proclaims herself to be the "best witch of [her] generation."[1]

It is possible that Irene is the descendant of Nabooru. The fact that her portrait is hidden in the Desert Palace and that she is a female could be hints at this, seeing as Nabooru was a Gerudo, a race made completely of woman (with the exception of one male that is born every 100 years) that live in a desert region.
