Spumes are enemies appearing in Skyward Sword.
Characteristics
Spume are toad-like enemies that are similar in appearance and behavior to the Toadpoli.If Link comes too close to them, they will dive into whatever form of matter they're swimming in.
Varieties
There are several kinds of Spume including the Magma, Electro, and Cursed Spume. They all poccess different behaviors and patterns, and they also have a different stratagy to defeating them.
Magma Spume
Magma Spumes can be found inaisw the Earth Temple. They swim throughout the magma and spit out fire balls which can be sliced with the Goddess Sword rendering them ineffective. The fireballs can be reflected with a Shield Bash, but this will only work if Link is performing the Shield Bash with an Iron Shield and its upgrades, or the Sacred Shield and its upgrades or the Hylian Shield. This is because the Wooden Shield will burn away and cannot do the action.If a Magma Spume manages to hit Link with a fireball he will get burned and will need to do a Roll or a Spin Attack to put out the flames. Magma Spumes can also be destroyed in an alternative way in which Link rolls over them while rolling on top of the large stone spheres located inside the Earth Temple.
Electro Spume
Electro Spumes appear in the Lanayru Desert region.They are very similar to the Magma Spumes but they are Yellow. {{{2}}}s can be found swimming in the Lanayru Sand Sea while in the past. They are greenish/blue in color and will try to shoot water at Skipper's boat. They can be defeated with a single cannon shot.
Cursed Spume
Cursed Spumes appear in the Fire Sanctuary. They are very similar to the Magma and Electro Spume but they can spit dark balls of dark energy that if hit will stop Link in his tracks for a few seconds.
