Biography

Breath of the Wild

Mayro is a Hylian who resides at the Foothill Stable in Eldin. He can be found inside, where he admires a painting displayed on its wall. During the night, he sleeps in one of the Stable's Bed.

When spoken to, Mayro claims that he wishes he had the skill to make such a painting.[3] Turning to face Link, he asks if he has also come to admire the painting, and he reveals that he could stare at it for hours.[4] He has heard the the owner of Foothill Stable, Ozunda, was the one who created it.[5] In particular, he appreciates Death Mountain in the background and how the Stable blends into the background.[6] By looking at the painting, Mayro is able to deduce that it depicts the Stable from the south.[7] Following this conversation, the "A Landscape of a Stable" Shrine Quest will begin.

If Link returns to Mayro after finding the Tah Muhl Shrine, he realizes that there is an Ancient Shrine on the painting's left-hand side.[8] Despite how often his looks at the painting, he has never noticed it before.[9] He believes this is because it is an unusual place for a Shrine, and he wonders who would go out of their way to visit it.[10] He is then surprised to hear that Link has already visited it, and he rationalizes that there are some people who simply want to travel the world.[11] When spoken to again, he hopes he will one day be able to paint as well as Ozunda does.[12]

Tears of the Kingdom

Mayro now wears a Mushroom-Themed Outfit.

As a result of the Extreme Cold Snap and Blizzard in Hebra, Mayro can initially be found sheltered inside Snowfield Stable. When spoken to, he notices that Link's Armor must keep him warm, and he states that the Blizzard may be life-threatening to those without Cold Resistant Clothes.[13] He also comments that, although his Mushroom-Themed Outfit is perfect for almost every scenario, a Blizzard is not one of them.[14] He informs Link that he is able to buy the Snowquill Set at Rito Village, but the bridge crossing over to Rito Village has collapsed.[15] If Link talks to Mayro without any Armor equipped, he will be shocked to see Link doing so.[16]

After Link has defeated Colgera, Mayro can be seen traveling along Westbound Road between Tabantha Bridge Stable and the Lucky Clover Gazette. If Link has spoken to Mayro before, he will immediately recognize him and ask if he is also looking for Misko's Treasure.[17] He assumes that Link is heading to the Tabantha Frontier, and he explains that a piece of Misko's Treasure is supposedly hidden in a Cave somewhere in Tabantha Frontier. While he has not been able to find the Treasure, he has become knowledgeable of the Region.[18] He also explains that he went to Foothill Stable in Eldin so the Treasure-Hunting Brothers could tell him where the Treasure is, after which he returned to the Tabantha Frontier.[19][20] Despite walking through various Roads, Mayro has not found a single Cave that could hold Misko's Treasure, and he considers expanding his search. However, he worries that he may ruin his Mushroom-Themed Outfit whilst doing so.[21][22]

If Link saves Mayro from Enemies, he thanks him.[23][24][25][26] Afterwards, he rewards Link with a Meal as a sign of his gratitude.[27]

Like many Cece Fans, if Link talks to Mayro whilst wearing no Armor, Mayro will try avoid talking to him until he puts them back on.[28]

  6. That volcano in the background... It's so majestic. And the stable is subtle in the scenery. — Mayro (Breath of the Wild)
  7. I think the stable was painted from a southern direction... The composition is just so impressive... — Mayro (Breath of the Wild)
  8. Oh... There's a shrine on the left-hand side of the picture... — Mayro (Breath of the Wild)
  9. I never noticed that shrine before. I've looked at this painting so much, and I never noticed it... — Mayro (Breath of the Wild)
  10. Must be because that's an odd place for a shrine to be located. Who would go to a shrine there, anyway? — Mayro (Breath of the Wild)
  11. Wait, what? You went there? I guess for some people, there's nothing to stop them from traveling the world. — Mayro (Breath of the Wild)
  12. I hope that someday I can capture the same majesty that Ozunda does in my own work. — Mayro (Breath of the Wild)
  13. Look at you... Dressed to keep nice and warm, it seems. The blizzard outside is furious, isn't it? This weather can be life-threatening to those without cold-resistant clothes. — Mayro (Tears of the Kingdom)
  14. While my fashion is perfect for nearly every scenario, sadly, a raging blizzard isn't one of them. So I'm stuck here. — Mayro (Tears of the Kingdom)
  15. You can buy cold-resistant clothing at Rito Village off to the west. Clothes that are stuffed with feathers, I've heard. But they say that the bridge that crosses over to their village has collapsed. So a journey there could prove fruitless. — Mayro (Tears of the Kingdom)
  16. Unbelievable! It's such a long way here, but you're barely dressed for such a journey! — Mayro (Tears of the Kingdom)
  17. Wow! What are the odds we'd run into each other again? Wonders never cease. Next you're going to tell me you're also chasing after Misko's treasure. — Mayro (Tears of the Kingdom)
  18. You're heading for the Tabantha Frontier, right? It's right beyond this valley. I heard that Misko's treasure is supposed to be hidden in a cave somewhere in this area, so I've gotten to know the region well. Haven't found it yet though. — Mayro (Tears of the Kingdom)
  19. I went all the way to Foothill Stable in Eldin, in the northeast of Hyrule, just to talk to the treasure-hunting brothers. Then I had to walk all the way back here. — Mayro (Tears of the Kingdom)
  20. There's treasure stashed in a cave somewhere here in the Tabantha Frontier. And this isn't any old treasure like money or jewels. Oh no. This is something from Misko's personal clothes collection! That was the most exciting thing I learned from the treasure-hunting brothers at Foothill Stable. It was worth the trip to Eldin in the northeast of Hyrule to visit them. — Mayro (Tears of the Kingdom)
  21. I've walked up and down the roads in this area, and I haven't found any caves at all that might hold Misko's treasure. Maybe I need to look further off the beaten path? That'll be tough in this outfit. Finding Misko's treasure, or sullying this one-of-a-kind outfit... Life has presented me with quite the dilemma. — Mayro (Tears of the Kingdom)
  22. I've walked up and down the roads in this area, and I haven't found any caves at all that might hold Misko's treasure. I even went to the trouble of asking the treasure hunters at Foothill Stable which cave to check in the Tabantha Frontier. All that walking, from here to Eldin in the northeast of Hyrule and back again, and I'm no closer to my prize. — Mayro (Tears of the Kingdom)
  23. Ah, I'm saved! Your fighting was picturesque. Thank you. — Mayro (Tears of the Kingdom)
  24. You saved me. Thank you. I don't know the first thing about defeating monsters. — Mayro (Tears of the Kingdom)
  25. You saved me. I'll leave the whole monster-fighting thing to people like you. — Mayro (Tears of the Kingdom)
  26. Woof. Didn't think I was going to make it. Thanks so much. I've had more than enough of monsters... — Mayro (Tears of the Kingdom)
  27. I have to thank you somehow. Please take this as a token of my gratitude. — Mayro (Tears of the Kingdom)
  28. Hey, whoa! I'm a free spirit too, but... You have to put on a shirt or some trousers before you talk to me! — Mayro (Tears of the Kingdom)
