Spike Grass
Spike Grasses are recurring Objects in The Legend of Zelda series.[1] Spike Grass goes unnamed in Link's Awakening for Nintendo Switch.
Location and Uses
Twilight Princess
Skyward Sword
Spike Grass is found growing on Skyloft and the Surface, particularly throughout Faron Woods. Despite its sharp appearance, it does not hurt to touch. Link can cut Spike Grass with his Sword to find Rupees and Deku Seeds. Cut Spike Grass will regrow if Link leaves and returns to an area.
Echoes of Wisdom
Spike Grass reappears in Echoes of Wisdom. It grows throughout most of Hyrule, especially Hyrule Field, Suthorn Prairie, and Suthorn Forest. It is also visible in parts of the Still World related to those areas. Some can be seen growing outside the Suthorn Ruins when Princess Zelda flees from the Rift that engulfs the entire structure. Spike Grass growing on Eldin Volcano is dull yellow, making it appear dead.
After escaping Hyrule Castle Underground, Princess Zelda can Spin through Spike Grass to cut it. Like usual, this has the potential to reveal Rupees or even Fairies if Zelda is wearing a Fairy Flower or Fairy Fragrance. Like other types of foliage, cut Spike Grass will regrow after a period of time. Spike Grass cannot be copied as an Echo.
