This is a topic I've been meaning to broach for such a long time! The only problem now is that nothing links here, so we'll have to go through and point all of these pages here! --Adam 16:54, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Oh gosh.
Um. I vote that I'm not gonna necessarily go and edit every dang one of those, and moreso just edit the links in as I see them. --Ando (T) 17:44, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I didn't give up on it, I just have some other stuff to do, offline. I spent all of my online time yesterday categorizing, so nothings a waste of time XD. Tell me what you mean and I'll get to it.Axiomist 17:46, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

What? No, I was just saying that I wasn't going to search the wiki for the word "warp" and edit all kinds of links in (for instance, Farore's Wind should probably link here, yeah?). So... yup. --Ando (T) 17:48, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I see, excellent rewrite btw, I just hashed it together to get a start. I don't even think I covered all of Link's Awakening. To avoid getting red links and clogging the wanted page I didn't put anything in brackets until I had more time.Axiomist 17:57, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Right, cool; I was hoping you didn't make that and think "Yes, this is a good article, it shouldn't need more". :P But yeah, I filled in pretty much everything I can (I have yet to beat the other games, so I figured that I'm probably not the BEST authority on those). --Ando (T) 18:02, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hey guys, we gonna mention these things at all? :

o.O good one! I swore I was missing something in that game. Please add it in!Axiomist 19:09, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Images rock!

Wow! This page looks really great even moreso considering it all began this morning XD. How much more do we need for it to no longer be a stub and an article needing attention?Axiomist 19:37, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Uh, it's way past stub. I'll take that tag away. The sections could be expanded a little though.--Emma 19:45, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Coolness! I'll have to be back later, but I can't wait to see what others do to it. It needs a better intro for sure tho. :P. And I know it's missing some of the dungeon warp tiles that are pretty much mazes. LttP certainly had them, possibly other games too.Axiomist 19:51, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I'm starting to get a good feeling for this article. With a bit more work expect me to ask for it to be nominated as a Featured article. ;P. Other than that, does anyone have images of warp destination points from these games?Axiomist 01:52, 11 May 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I guess we can make a list or something about the warp locations. RupeeLord 19:24, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Oh, that'd be so cool. I've searched through the images here to try to find the destination points with no luck.Axiomist (talk) 23:54, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Wouldn't it be cleaner and nicer if the locations were in a list?
I fixed it, I'm still trying to get some images from one of my friends around here thoAxiomist (talk) 17:38, 27 February 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

References

I'm going through manuals to find some decent references. I read the help pages on the cite templates It still makes no sense. Well if anyone could reference my last LttP quote from page 27 of the LttP GBA Manual I'd appreciate it and understand it better. I really want to get this page into top shape.Axiomist 03:21, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

That's Ando for you. He thinks that the help pages should be quick and brief. While I think that they should be large and informative. The info you need for sourcing is here.Emma (Talk) 04:14, January 8, 2009 (UTC)
I appreciate the link to the page that still makes no sense, however; I gave it a shot and just saved it, See in the previews and now in the saved page the referenced quote is absent. :sAxiomist 04:29, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Needed a references section at the bottom. It is the {{Subst:Ref}} thing in the toolbox.Emma (Talk) 04:57, January 8, 2009 (UTC)

Cool Beans bro!! I think I missed that. Are the templates programmed so that future additions to the references will be automatically added and numbered or is this manually done for each one?Axiomist 05:01, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It is a function. It calls and displays all references on the page in the order that they appear.Emma (Talk) 05:02, January 8, 2009 (UTC)

Flagged again.

Well, I'm all ears for suggestions to improve this page. I'm combing manuals and games for more references. I have a good friend getting screenshots for the page, when he has the time to do so. But if there's some other improvement that I'm overlooking; please point it out. I intend to get this page to Featured caliber good. Axiomist (talk) 05:38, 29 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Oh... me being the one to flag it... let me elaborate... some sections need a minor rewording, and some wiki formatting codes, including image arrangement need a fix... I'll give it some help when I get time. - M E L C H I Z E D E K  (TALK) 05:41, 29 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I'd appreciate that. If you find the time to do a section or two, I could get a clearer idea of what you mean and be able to hit the ground running from there on.Axiomist (talk) 07:37, 29 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

BS Zelda Warping

Does someone want to add anything about using the Ocarina to warp in BS Zelda? I tried drafting something, but I'm bad at writing about this sort of thing. Alter  {T C B H } 21:40, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Well I suppose so. But not very many people know that much about the game. If they do then I guess they can add it.Emma (Talk) 22:43, February 19, 2009 (UTC)
Yea, I don't know anything about the BS Zelda either, but I'll see what I can find. Feel free to write it up, after all we can edit it and clean it up.Axiomist (talk) 23:51, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Ok, I'll do my best. Alter  {T C B H } 05:12, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Super Mario Bros. 3

In the Minish Cap, the tune that is played when you play the Ocarina is also the tune that is played when using the Warp Flute in Super Mario Bros. 3. Is this something worthy of being noted? Yashichi 03:34, 22 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Nice find! I'll add it. I've never actually played SMB3. Alter  {T C B H } 03:42, 22 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Coolness, One thing that I thought of adding was a list of the warp locations in OoX, which is essentially the Tree Locations. If only I could find my guide....Axiomist (talk) 04:00, 22 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

LOZ?

I don't remember having warp zones in LoZ. User:Light Knight/sig19:23, January 4, 2009 (UTC)

Trust me, it has plenty. On the note of merging, I'm all for it. I'll add in the scant info from MC that isn't on the other article Axiomist (talk) 04:43, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I added the green portal info I missed, the only thing here not added was the line: "There is also a warp zone that appears a few screens away from Syrup's hut that can transport Link to northern Koholint island and back."

I have no idea what it refers to. I'm going ahead with the merge. Axiomist (talk) 05:34, 28 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

FSA

Several areas contain warping systems that send the Links back to set points. These enchanted areas are listed below. Also are the return of Whirlpool Waterways and the dreaded Wallmasters. Where are they listet? Carnca 23:22, 30 August 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Umm, well, they aren't :P. If you gather this info, feel free to place it in. FSA info is scant on this wiki. Axiomist (talk) 02:02, 31 August 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Flute?

For the A Link to the Past portion of this page... it repeatedly refers to the instrument as an Ocarina rather than a Flute. Since this is a featured article, I didn't make the change, since I assumed there was some sort of explanation for this. Since we have a separate page for the Flute and Ocarina here at the Wiki, this distinction should be made, right? Mases 18:37, 7 October 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Split

At 32k, and growth expected following each game; I think we'll need to split off the Enchanted Areas section here to its own article. It's small now, but I think we could easily beef it up, get more images & references. Of course as far as I know, it would be a conjectural title. And I still think Warping and Enchanted Areas would be companion articles to one another, warranting cross links via See Also sections. Thoughts? Axiomist (talk) 18:32, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Skyward Sword

I do not see the section for Skyward Sword, and yet the Trivia says only Adventure of Link doesn't have warping. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ma321 (talk) 09:48, 8 June 2014

FS Warp Zones

There isn't a section for FS's Warp Zones. They do qualify for this section right? Since they are simplistic and not multipurpose compared to the other games, as they only serve to teleport in one direction to the next level/floor (not "Stage", if I have the terms right). Mentions of FS Warp Zones do link to this page I should mention. (This topic is sort of a reminder to my future myself as well) --KokoroSenshi (talk | contribs) 07:25, 26 December 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yeah, warp zones would qualify here. - Midoro (T C) 02:13, 31 December 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Warping between dimensions/through time

Now, I understand that both of these are still forms of warping, but I'm wondering why they need to be on this page. To me, they make it seem a little cluttered. Unless dimension-hopping also lets you travel to new areas (like the time portals in Oracle of Ages, which let you return to the present in a different location, or the fissures to Lorule, through which you can find other fissures leading back to Hyrule), I don't think they should really be listed here, or at least not to the extent that they are now. The gates to the Silent Realms, for example, only take you to one fenced-in location, and then back when you use them again. (It's also not really warping, in their case, since Link's spirit is what enters the Silent Realm while his body is left in the real world.)
