"True Treasure" is a Side Quest in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]

Overview

When Link speaks to Kodah after completing "Sidon of the Zora", she informs him that she and Finley found an Ancient Manuscript while organizing the Seabed Inn's bookshelf.[2] The Manuscript states, "Long, long ago, at Tarm Point, a blessed stone was hidden away within a sacred shrine. It was a magnificent shrine that was overflowing with blessings."[3] Kodah then declares that the Manuscript must lead to a secret.[4] If Link agrees, Kodah states she knew an adventurer like him would understand.[5] If Link disagrees, Kodah continues to insist that she is right.[6]

Kodah believes that the Ancient Manuscript was likely left behind by a distant ancestor of hers and that it may lead to treasure.[7] Upon seeing it, Finley decided to try and find the treasure for herself, and she took Sasan with her.[8] Although Kodah is certain that Finley will remain safe, she is worried about Sasan.[9] After speaking to Kodah, "True Treasure" will begin.

Inside Tarm Point Cave, Link can find Sasan wondering what he should do.[10] He is shocked to meat someone else in the Cave, asking if Link is also in search of the treasure mentioned in the Ancient Manuscript.[11] If Link has not yet spoken to Kodah, then Sasan reasons he just so happened to find the Cave.[12] If Link did speak to her, Sasan explains that the Manuscript was left by her ancestors.[13]

After hearing about the Ancient Manuscript, Sasan and Finley decided to seek out the treasure together,[14][15] though Sasan admits that he was uncertain.[16] However, he believes that a Shrine of Light is the most likely place that a treasure would be hidden, and so he followed after Finley.[17] When they arrived at Tarm Point Cave, though Finley swam ahead, and Sasan was unable to keep up with her.[18] He also has not been able to use the nearby Raft due to the Cave's Water level fluctuating, and so he is unsure how to reach her.[19]

With the nearby Korok Fronds, Link can use Fuse to create a Korok-Frond Guster. He can then place the Raft in the Water and instruct Sasan to board.[20] Link can then use the Korok-Frond Guster to navigate the stream. At the end of the stream, he will find Finley standing in front of a Shrine of Light, calling out to them.[21] Once they reach the end of Tarm Point Cave, Sasan will thank Link.[22]

On the shore, Finley notices that Sasan appears to be pale and asks how he is.[23] He insists that he is fine, apologizing for keeping her waiting.[24] Finley looks up at the Yomizuk Shrine nearby, wondering if it is the one mentioned in the Ancient Manuscript.[25] While Finley is disappointed that there is no treasure,[26] Sasan claims that the memory of their journey is more meaningful.[27] Finley agrees, stating that the memory they shared is the greatest treasure of all.[28]

Sasan thanks Link for helping him reach the Shrine of Light.[29] As a reward, he gives Link an Opal.[30] He claims he picked it up while he and Finley were on their way to Tarm Point Cave, and he hopes it could be useful to Link.[31] Finley gives Link another Opal,[32] which she also found on their journey.[33] Sasan suggests that they should return to Zora's Domain at tell Kodah about what they discovered,[34] which Finley agrees to.[35] She decides they should hold hands while Swimming back in order to avoid being separated,[36] though this only concerns Sasan.[37] The pair then leave, and "True Treasure" will be completed.

Objectives

Stage Description
1 Kodah at the inn came across the following passage from an ancient text: "Long, long ago, at Tarm Point, a blessed stone was hidden away within a sacred shrine."

Kodah's daughter, Finley, believes there must be treasure there, and so she and Sasan set off for Tarm Point. Does treasure await them?
2 You found Sasan when you entered the cave at Tarm Point. It seems Finley ventured deeper into the cave without waiting for him.

Sasan needs to board a raft to catch up to her, but he can't make it far with the water level rising and falling. He's not sure what to do...
Complete You let Sasan board the raft in the cave at Tarm Point and delivered him safely to Finley, who was waiting for him farther inside.

They didn't find the treasure they expected at the Shrine deep within the cave, but in the end, the memories they made together are more precious than any.

  7. This is probably something left behind by my great-great-great-great-grandpa... Probably even more greats than that! It says the shrine is sacred, so there must be some truly amazing treasure there! — Kodah (Tears of the Kingdom)
  8. As soon as she read it, my daughter, Finley, declared she was "off on an adventure to find the treasure." Before he knew what hit him, she had grabbed Sasan and together they raced out of the domain! — Kodah (Tears of the Kingdom)
  9. Finley is headstrong to say the least. She'll be find, but I'm a little worried about poor Sasan. Tarm Point is way off to the southeast of the domain, so it's pretty far... I hope they make it there safely. — Kodah (Tears of the Kingdom)
  10. What should I do? — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  11. Hoo boy, that startled me! I didn't expect to see anyone else here... Did you also come here in search of treasure after hearing about the ancient manuscript from Kodah? — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  12. Oh, is that not it? Then...you just happened upon this place. Huh. — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  13. That's right! It's an ancient manuscript left behind by Kodah's ancestors. — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  14. I'm here with Finley. She's the best person I've ever met, so there's no better person to hunt for treasure with! Back in Zora's Domain, Finley's mother Kodah showed us an ancient manuscript. You won't believe what it said... "Long, long ago, at Tarm Point, a blessed stone was hidden away within a sacred shrine. "It was a magnificent shrine that was overflowing with blessings." That's what it said! Or, something like that, at least. — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  15. Since Finley is Kodah's daughter, we asked her to tell us all about the contents of that document. It said something like, "Long, long ago, at Tarm Point, a blessed stone was hidden away within a sacred shrine." — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  16. I know it's an ancient manuscript and all, but the writing...lacked clarity, if you ask me. I was a bit skeptical at first. — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  17. But come ON! It's a sacred shrine! If I was going to hide treasure, that's exactly where I'd leave it! Finley was so convinced that she declared, "Treasure hunt, ahoy!" Next thing I knew, she'd left Zora's Domain. She was so excited—and where Finley goes, I go. So here I am. We made it all the way to this cave as a team. — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  18. But then Finley swam ahead all by herself and went deep inside the cave. "Don't lag behind!" she hollered back at me. Easier said than done, I'm afraid. Finley thinks I'm capable of anything. She really is such a sweetheart. I've been training like mad, but... I'm just not a very good swimmer. — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  19. I found a perfect little raft there and thought maybe I could ride it to her location. Nope. The water in the cave goes up and down drastically, so even if you manage to get going, you end up on a rock. That means I have no way forward, so I'm not sure what to do. I promised Finley... "Of course we'll find the treasure together! Anything for yoU!" That's what I said. Ugh, what should I do? — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  20. [It's rafting time!] Huh? You're really going to help me get where I need to go on the raft? Thank you! You're ridiculously kind! I'll happily accept your help. — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  21. Over here! — Finley (Tears of the Kingdom)
  22. We did it! I'm finally here. Thank you! — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  23. Sasan! Look at you! You're so pale. Are you all right? — Finley (Tears of the Kingdom)
  24. I...I'm fine. Really. So sorry I kept you waiting. — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  25. Look at that, Sasan... There's a stone emitting a mysterious light! Could this be the sacred shrine that houses the blessed stone written of in that ancient manuscript? — Finley (Tears of the Kingdom)
  26. Hm. But I don't see any treasure like I was imagining. How disappointed. — Finley (Tears of the Kingdom)
  27. Finley... We journeyed to this cave all the way from Zora's Domain in search of treasure. It was really tough, but now the two of us have the memory of seeing this sacred shrine together. That means more to me than any treasure ever could! — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  28. Sasan... Our little treasure hunt...it was a blast. I'll never forget it! You're right. This memory is the greatest treasure of all. Truly. — Finley (Tears of the Kingdom)
  29. Thank you so much for bringing me all the way out here. It's because of you that Finley and I have this treasured memory. — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  30. Oh, that reminds me! I need to reward you! Take this. Please, I insist. — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  31. I picked this up along the journey to the cave! I'd be overjoyed if it helped you out in some way. — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  32. Oh, I have something for you too! Here, take this. — Finley (Tears of the Kingdom)
  33. Just like Sasan, I found this on my way here. It matches his! — Finley (Tears of the Kingdom)
  34. What a great day, Finley. How about we head back to Zora's Domain? I can't wait to tell Kodah. The story from that ancient manuscript was real! — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
  35. That sounds delightful! — Finley (Tears of the Kingdom)
  36. However, let's be sure to hold hands as we swim back so that we don't get separated again! — Finley (Tears of the Kingdom)
  37. Um...that sounds difficult, but if that's what you want, sure thing. Let's please just take it nice and easy on the way back... — Sasan (Tears of the Kingdom)
