Toadpolis are enemies in Twilight Princess.

Characteristics

Toadpolis are armored, two-legged frogs which act very similarly to Octoroks. A universal trait of all Toadpolis is that they spit projectiles at Link, which he can deflect with his Shield. If Link comes too close to them, they dive back under the lava or water.

Toadpolis grow into Deku Toads after a thousand years.[1]

Water Toadpoli

Water Toadpolis[2] can be found swimming in water in the Goron Mines. They spit projectiles at Link that can be deflected with the Shield.

Fire Toadpoli

Fire Toadpolis[3] can also be found in the Goron Mines, swimming in lava. They spit fireballs at Link that can burn his Ordon or Wooden Shield. The fireballs can be sliced with the Sword and be deflected back at the Fire Toadpoli, defeating it.

Other Appearances

Link's Crossbow Training

In Link's Crossbow Training, Water Toadpolis appear in the "Battle on Zora's River" level of Stage 2.

Nomenclature

Their name may be a combination of the word "toad" and the word "polliwog," which is a synonym for "tadpole."
