Slingshot Pellets (also known as Deku Seeds) are items, usually seeds, that are used as ammunition in a Slingshot. The ammunition is different depending on the Slingshot used.

Varieties

Deku Seeds

Deku Seeds are found in Ocarina of Time. They are common items, especially Inside the Deku Tree. These seeds are used as ammunition for the Fairy Slingshot.[1] The Deku Seeds can only be used as a child due to the Fairy Slingshot not having any use as an adult. They are held in the Bullet Bag, which can be upgraded to hold 40 or 50 seeds. Skull Kids also shoots Deku Seeds from their flute.

Four Swords Adventures also features Deku Seeds as the slingshot's ammunition. The Slingshot has unlimited ammunition as there are no Deku Seeds to be collected and no bag to hold them.

Skyward Sword uses Deku Seeds as ammunition, as well. They can be found by defeating Deku Babas or using the Digging Mitts in soft soil. He can also buy 10 seeds for 20 Rupees at the Gear Shop.

Pumpkin Seeds are a type of Slingshot ammunition in Twilight Princess. Link receives 50 ordinary pellets when he first buys the slingshot from Sera in Ordon Village, but must use pumpkin seeds as replacements once they are used up. They can be found by smashing pumpkins or slaying Deku Babas and throwing their pods. There is no bag or container for pellets, but a maximum of 50 pellets can be held.

Trivia

  • During development of Ocarina of Time, Link would use pachinko balls as ammunition for the Slingshot.[2]
