Template:Object Weather Vanes, also known as Weathercocks in A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening,[1][2] are recurring objects in Template:LZS.

Appearances

A Link to the Past

The Weathercock appears in the center of Kakariko Village. If Link plays the Flute nearby it, a bird will appear from inside the statue. If Link plays the Flute again the bird will appear and bring Link to one of eight different locations. In the Dark World, the Weathercock is replaced by a Gargoyle Statue that also is the entrance to Thieves' Town, where the fourth Crystal is.

Link's Awakening

A single Weathercock appears in Mabe Village. When Link learns the "Frog's Song of Soul" from Mamu he must play it in a hidden room under the Weathercock, which will revive the Flying Rooster. There is also a missable photo in Link's Awakening DX in which the Weathercock is visible.

A Link Between Worlds

In A Link Between Worlds, Weather Vanes serve as save points and are located at landmarks around Hyrule and Lorule similar to Skyward Sword's Bird Statues. Weather Vanes are found outside each dungeon and at other commonly visited locations, such as Ravio's Shop and Kakariko Village. After Link meets Irene, she will offer to transport Link to the location of any Weather Vane previously activated should the young hero ring a Bell.

Non-Canon Appearances

Hyrule Warriors

In Hyrule Warriors, Weather Vanes resembling the ones in A Link Between Worlds appear as icons whenever the Warriors have reached a checkpoint, allowing them to resume from that moment onward should they lose to the opposing Forces.

Well, this human shape is uncomfortable for me. Ahhh, I want to be a chicken again! Cluck cluck..." — Cucco (A Link to the Past)
  2. "BRRING! BRRING! Hi, it's Ulrira! Have you heard of the Flying Rooster of Mabe Village? In the good old days, it used to give us rides if we held it above our heads... Now it is lying under the Weathercock... Is that useful for you? I hope so! Bye! CLICK!" — Ulrira (Link's Awakening)
