The Ocarina of Time is an important item central to the plots of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. The notes it naturally plays are: the D above middle C (played by the A button), F (C-Down or Z), A (C-right or X), B (C-left or Y), and the D an octave above the last (C-up). Using the R and Z buttons (or R and L), along with minipulating the d-stick, you can raise or lower the pitch (enabeling someone with a good ear and hand to, say, play the Simpson's Theme, or the original Zelda Overworld Theme).

Ocarina of Time

An instrument needed in Ocarina of Time alongside the Spiritual Stones and the knowledge of the Song of Time to open the Door of Time in the Temple of Time. The Ocarina is an instrument handed down by generations within the Hyrule Royal Family. The last of the Royal Family, Princess Zelda entrusted it with the boy from the forest, Link, to help him become the Hero of Time. With it, Link opened the Sacred Realm, allowing Ganondorf to break the Triforce into its three pieces. The Princess throws the ocarina from her horse into the Hyrule Castle moat when she and Impa are depicted fleeing the town, with Ganondorf in pursuit.
