In Ocarina of Time, the "Song of Storms" is the only non-warping Ocarina song learned by Adult Link. It is taught to him by the windmill man in Kakariko Village. It can summon rain when the song is played, reveal secret grottoes and water bean sprouts to produce fairies. In several areas throughout Hyrule, such as in the Lost Woods, if Navi turns green, Link can play the Song of Storms and a short cutscene showing a wingless fairy will begin. These fairies will restore Link's magic meter as well as his life energy but cannot be caught in a bottle. By playing the "Song of Storms" inside the windmill as a child, it will speed up the windmill dramatically, causing the well in Kakariko Village to empty.

The "Song of Storms" makes another appearance in Majora's Mask, where its origins are explained.  The "Song of Storms" was a song composed by the Composer Brothers of the Ikana Canyon, specifically by Flat. When Link finds Flat's crypt beneath the Ikana Graveyard, Flat teaches it to him; it represents his sadness of losing Sharp, the other Composer Brother, and his anger for Sharp's betrayal. This makes Link learning the song an example of a wikipedia, as Link could not have learned the song if he hadn't gone on to play it in the Windmill Man's past.
*The Song of Storms can be played to the Fabulous Five Froggish Tenors in Zora's River to gain a Piece of Heart.
*This is the only non-warping song learned by Link as an adult in OoT.

Ocarina of Time

In Ocarina of Time, the "Song of Storms" is taught to Link by the Guru-Guru inside the Kakariko Windmill. When palyed, it can summon rain, reveal secret grottoes, and water Magic Bean sprouts to produce Fairies. In several areas throughout Hyrule, if Navi turns green, Link can play the "Song of Storms" to summon a wingless Fairy which restores Hearts and the Magic Meter. If Link plays the "Song of Storms" inside the Kakariko Windmill as a child, it will speed up the windmill dramatically, causing the well to drain and open the access to the Bottom of the Well.

The song can also be played to the Fabulous Five Froggish Tenors in Zora's River to obtain a Piece of Heart.

Majora's Mask

In Majora's Mask, the "Song of Storms" was a song composed by the Composer Brothers of the Ikana Canyon. When Link finds Flat's crypt beneath the Ikana Graveyard, he teaches the song to him. Music Theory

The "Song of Storms" is in triple time and features a 4-bar intro. The rest of the piece is 7 bars long and looped ad infinitum, with the last bar of the 8-bar melodic phrase overlapping with the first bar of the intro. Even though the piece is only 11 bars long, it uses two different sets of instrumentation to add variety. Trivia

 • Link's experience with the "Song of Storms" is known as a bootstrap paradox. The Windmill Man teaches adult Link the song because of his fury at the damage young Link brought by playing it. After traveling back in time, young Link uses that knowledge to cause the damage that led to the Windmill Man's fury.[2] Therefore, Link could not have learned the song if he had not gone on to play it to the Windmill Man's in the past.
 • The opening section of the "Song of Storms" resembles the opening section of the Fortress/Castle theme from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
