Jitan Sa'mi Shrine
The Jitan Sa'mi Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name Jitan Sa'mi's Blessing,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild.
Entrance to the Shrine
The Jitan Sa'mi Shrine is located behind the Spring of Wisdom on top of Mount Lanayru. It is accessed as part of "The Spring of Wisdom" Shrine Quest. Link receives the Quest by speaking to Medda in Hateno Village, who shares his belief that since the princess endured hardship in the Spring, then the Royal Family of Hyrule must have left a treasure there.[2]
When Link arrives at the Spring of Wisdom, he will find Naydra infected by Malice.[3] The Spring of Wisdom Statue, which is Spring's Goddess Statue, tasks Link with purifying Naydra.[4] Link must follow Naydra as it flies throughout Mount Lanayru, shooting the Glowing Eyeballs that appear on its body.
After Link saves Naydra, the Spring of Wisdom Statue will encourage him to shoot one final Arrow at the Dragon.[5] Naydra will take off once shot, dropping one of Naydra's Scales in front of Link.[6] The Statue instructs Link to offer the Scale to the Spring of Wisdom,[7] which will open the door to Jitan Sa'mi Shrine.[8] Alternatively, Link can also open the door by offering the Scale found at Hyrule Castle instead, without freeing Naydra.
Following these events, the Shrine Quest will be completed. As Link enters the Ancient Shrine, he is greeted by its Monk, Jitan Sa'mi, who states that merely being able to enter the Shrine is proof of Link's worth.[9]
Jitan Sa'mi Shrine features no puzzles, simply a direct path to the Monk's Pedestal bearing Jitan Sa'mi. Along this path is a Treasure Chest containing a Frostspear. When Link approaches Jitan Sa'mi, the Monk will give him a Spirit Orb as a reward for completing the Trial.[10] Afterwards, Jitan Sa'mi will wish Link well before fading away.[11]
