Stone Talus (Junior)
The Stone Talus (Junior) is a Sub-Boss in Breath of the Wild.[1]
Characteristics
The Stone Talus (Junior) is a unique Stone Talus that resides on Dueling Peaks South.[1] It will initially be disguised as a natural rock formation, but if Link approaches it, it will stand up and begin to attack him.[2] Its weak spot is its Ore Deposit, which is located on its left side.[2] To reach the Deposit, Link must Climb up the side of the Stone Talus (Junior).[2] Alternatively, Link can attempt to shoot the Ore Deposit with an Arrow. Following a Blood Moon, the Stone Talus (Junior) will be revived if it has previously been defeated.
Once Link has defeated Calamity Ganon for the first time, Kilton will ask him to defeat every Stone Talus in Hyrule so he can examine the scents they leave behind.[3] Included in this figure is the Stone Talus (Junior). When Link completes this request, Kilton will give him the Medal of Honor: Talus as a reward.[4]

This enormous monster is naturally camouflaged as a rock formation. Neither sword nor arrow can pierce its stony form, but a cunning adventurer knows to scale its body and attack the ore sprouting from its peak.

I'm currently after them myself, but they're just so big! I can't even get near them... So could I ask you to find them and, uh, harvest their materials? I'm talking all of them. That way, I'll be able to analyze the scent of their fluids that will inevitably stick to your body during battle. That will allow me to determine their habits, behaviors, and overall qualities. I'm counting on you...

You—! You've defeated every last Stone Talus! Oh, you are FRAGRANT, my friend. It smells like there's a Stone Talus standing right in front of me! Tha-thank you so much! Oh, yes! Here, let me give you this.
