Unique Attributes for Weapons

It was mentioned only briefly in the E3 Treehouse Livestream, (see here), so might have gone missed by some. As per the video, two identically named weapons can have different attributes. In this video the traveler's bow has 3 more attack power than the traveler's bow currently in his inventory. Another example, in this video (see here) the traveler's bow has a default attack power of 5, but this time has a durability buff.

This knowledge will need adding (more eloquently than I can describe it!) to the page and taken into account when discussing the relative strength of weapons - Dekusian (talk) 20:08, 22 June 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

All weapons have been revealed

We can just use the non spoiler weapons for now, and upload the spoiler weapons after release. All weapons are here, spoiler warning http://i.imgur.com/FM43ste.jpg Editorguy117 (talk) 03:56, 2 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Item Name links

Since all the names are links leaning back to the same pages, then whats the point? --Wolfgerlion64 (talk) 17:44, 19 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Our plan is to have a page on every single weapon. At the moment, they redirect to the weapons page in case they are linked from another page. There is a lot of work that needs to be done here. Hylian pi (talk) 18:41, 19 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I have several general editing questions related to this. 1) Since the missing weapons do not show up as Wanted Pages, is there a way to check which ones are still needed without clicking each link? I've compiled a (still long) list of the ones currently needed that I can share, but knowing an easy way to check would be nice. 2) How can a new page be created in this situation when there are no red links and searches are automatically redirected? 3) Will the redirects automatically go to the new pages when they are created, or is further work needed after the page is created? - Nerdyarchimedes (talk) 02:21, 27 December 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
For the first point, the easiest way would be to use the What links here Special page on Weapons in Breath of the Wild and hide links. This will give a list of the redirects to the Weapons in Breath of the Wild page. For pages that currently exist as a redirect, we do not need to create a new page, we simply need to edit the redirect page and that will become the page for the Weapon (like this). Links exist on the Special page I mentioned to access or edit those redirect pages (redirect pages can also be accessed by clicking the page name in the "redirected from PAGENAME" text that appears at the top of a page after being redirected). For the third point, as the redirects are the pages being edited, there won't be any redirects left afterwards. Link Lab (Talk) 13:12, 27 December 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Table Fix

Will someone please fix the weapons table? Someone (I don’t who) clearly didn’t know how to properly edit a table, so now viewers can no longer adjust the list to show weapons in descending order of durability, among other things. Last time I checked, a Tree Branch is not more durable than a Royal Broadsword. I would fix it myself, but the edit that messed everything up apparently happened some time ago, and I can’t figure out which edit caused this. Plus, I don’t want to undo the work of those who edited the article properly and added valuable information. Toolen22 (talk) 16:59, 12 December 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The order of the table appears as in the Hyrule Compendium by default. I assume you're browsing on mobile where the table doesn't have the option to sort it, as in desktop mode it works as it should. - Chuck * (Talk) 04:02, 13 December 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I believe he's talking about the issue where the table will sort alphabetically when sorting by Attack or Durability. The issue was caused by the Master Sword having multiple values for both columns. I have technically fixed this by adding hidden leading zeroes to all values under 10. It still sorts alphabetically but the leading zeroes trick it into also sorting numerically.
