Wind Gusts are horizontal Wind emitted by Fans in Dungeons, chiefly used to block paths or push the heroes into Holes. Outside of Dungeons, two can be found in Death Mountain, blocking off the southern entrance to the side of the area with the Temple of Storms. They disappear once Gleeokenspiel is defeated and the Glockenspiel is obtained. In the Temple of Storms itself, they initially block off the top-left Stairs. By standing on a Floor Switch accessed by clearing the first floor of the Dungeon, the heroes can disable the Wind Gusts on that side of the Dungeon and activate the set of Fans to their right instead.
They push Enemies, dropped Items, mobile Objects, and the heroes back one tile every beat while within them. Any projectiles that fly through them will change course to match the direction the Wind Gust is facing. If the heroes walk in the direction of a Wind Gust as they are pushed, they will move two tiles instead, allowing them to cross single-Hole gaps. By raising a Tower Shield or Mirror Shield and facing an incoming Wind Gust or by equipping Iron Boots, they can walk through Wind Gusts unhindered.[2][3]
