Greetings, random pedestrians! I'm MegaTitan64. I started playing The Legend of Zelda games in 2011 with the release of Ocarina of Time 3D, but before then I was mainly a Super Mario fan. Since then, The Legend of Zelda has been my favorite game series to date, and my current goal is to complete them all by the end of 2014.

Why Lorule is Termina
start
Before you read this, you should be aware that this isn't like the other standard theories on this wiki. This theory is more like an editorial.
I strongly believe that Lorule is Termina, and I have large amounts of evidence to support this. Maybe after you read this, you may too. First of all, let’s go over how it could be even possible. I mean, Majora's Mask and A Link Between Worlds are on different timelines, right? Right. Well, let’s over the events of Majora’s Mask. The Hero of Time was sent back seven years by Princess Zelda with the Ocarina of Time after he and the Seven Sages sealed Ganon in the Evil Realm. Since Link hadn't pulled the Master Sword out of the Pedestal of Time yet, the entrance to the Sacred Realm hadn't been opened yet. He then rushed to Hyrule Castle to warn Princess Zelda of the future if Ganondorf isn't stopped. Zelda then trusted Link with the Ocarina of Time, and he set off to look for his companion Navi, who had left him for unknown reasons. He then was ambushed by the Skull Kid, and wearing the infamous Majora’s Mask, stole both Epona and the Ocarina of Time. Link then chased after him, falling into a parallel world known as Termina, which is threatened by the falling moon. He then awakened the Four Giants that were slumbering in the four regions of the world to stop the falling moon. However, if Link failed, the moon would crash, of course. Now, what would happen if Link was never sent to Termina? What I mean is, in the “Downfall Timeline”, where the events of A Link Between Worlds takes place, the Hero of Time, the same Link from Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask, is killed by Ganon. Since Link is dead, he is never sent back in time, he never warns Princess Zelda, and he never travels to Termina. Since Link isn't there, Termina is destroyed by the moon, and Majora is victorious.
In A Link Between Worlds, Lorule is a kingdom that has been ruined by both the people and the gods. Lorule, despite being in its ruined state, has many famous landmarks, many of which line up perfectly with Termina. The most important one I think is the Lorulean Death Mountain. While the Hyrulean Death Mountain is a fiery volcano, the Lorulean Death Mountain is a frozen mountain cursed by an eternal blizzard. That sure sounds like Snowhead from Majora’s Mask, the parallel mountain to the Hyrulean Death Mountain, which is also a frozen mountain cursed by an eternal blizzard. Another strikingly similar parallel is Turtle Rock, the Lorulean counterpart of Lake Hylia. In Majora’s Mask, the area of Great Bay seems to be the Terminan counterpart of Lake Hylia, with Zora Hall being the counterpart of Zora’s Domain. At Great Bay, Link has to awaken a giant turtle so he can catch a ride to the temple. The temple seems to be the cause of the heating of the water around the area. In A Link Between Worlds, Link has to rescue three giant baby turtles who have gotten separated from their mother. After reuniting them, they give you a ride to the temple, which according to Princess Hilda, contains the power of fire. Perhaps these areas are the same place. The turtles of A Link Between Worlds could be descendants of the turtle from Majora’s Mask. It could also be possible that Turtle Rock is Great Bay Temple, as if it continued to heat up, maybe the metal in the temple started to melt, turning into lava. It seems far-fetched, but it’s just an idea. Some more possibilities is that Misery Mire is Southern Swamp or Woodfall, Skull Woods is the Woods of Mystery, the Lorulean Graveyard could be Ikana Graveyard, and the Dark Palace area could possibly be the Stone Tower area. The reason I say that the Dark Palace area could possibly be the Stone Tower area is that both temples use manipulation of light, and if you look around the area, you will see strange statues. Both statues appear to have faces with their tongue sticking out with an upside-down Triforce on it. Coincidence? I think not!
Lastly, I want to talk about Thieves’ Town. Thieves’ Town has a sort of “religion” that focuses around masks. The Masked Elder states that, “Though we have seen the world crumble before us, we must not give in to the corruption of thievery! Monsters can keep you strong! They are your only salvation, my son! You must don the mask! Don the mask! We are corrupt. CORRUPT! Do not be deceived. Only monsters will save us now! Mumbo jumbo, mumbo jumbo…” To me, this sounds like after the people destroyed the Lorulean Triforce, and after Majora destroyed the world, the people of Lorule had no other option but to support Majora, who is thought to be a goddess/demon. The people started to worship the only deity that was left as all the other deities have abandoned them, as according to the Philosopher, “Nobody bothers coming to this place anymore. But even I must wonder, have we abandoned the gods… or have they abandoned us?” Since Majora was a demon, therefor a monster, the people would wear monster masks to honor her. It could also be possible that Majora would curse anyone that would oppose her, therefor wearing a monster mask and honoring her would literally save them from the curse. Anyway, that’s all I have for now, and if I see anything else of interest, I will update this.
EDIT: I forgot to mention the most important piece of evidence: Everyone in Lorule has counterparts just like in Termina. In Lorule, good examples of this would be Link and Ravio, Princess Zelda and Princess Hilda, and possibly Ganondorf and Yuga. In Termina, good examples of this would be Malon and Romani/Cremia, Talon and Mr. Barten, and Ingo and the Gorman Brothers.

The Sages of A Link Between Worlds
start
When playing through A Link Between Worlds, you may notice something very strange. There are a total of seven sages, plus Zelda, not a total of seven sages including Zelda. This means that there are technically eight sages and not seven sages. This is very confusing, but I will try to decipher why and how this is possible. In Ocarina of Time, over the course of the game, Link will awaken Saria, the Sage of Forest, Darunia, the Sage of Fire, Ruto, the Sage of Water, Nabooru, the Sage of Spirit, Impa, the Sage of Shadow, Rauru, the Sage of Light, and Zelda, the Leader of the Sages, who is also believed to be the Sage of Time. Now, that being said, let’s go over who the sages of A Link Between Worlds might be. Gulley is most likely the Sage of Forest. This is because, like Saria, he is Link’s best friend, has an affinity towards animals and nature, and has a secret resting place in the forest. He is also the only sage that is a child, just like the Kokiri. Gulley’s signature color is also green, which is usually associated with the element of Forest. Rosso is most likely the Sage of Fire, as he is a strong, bulky man with dark tan skin and black, beady eyes just like a Goron. He also has the Goron insignia on his belt. However, as he has pointed ears and a nose, be might just be a Hylian or a Goron/Hylian hybrid. His signature color is also red, which is usually associated with the element of Fire. Oren is most likely the Sage of Water as she is one of the Zora Tribe (However this time as a saltwater-dwelling River Zora as opposed to the freshwater-dwelling Sea Zora) and is of female royalty. (This time as a queen rather than a princess) Oren is also found in a water-themed dungeon. However, unlike the Sage of Water, Oren’s signature color is orange, a color typically associated with the element of Spirit. This may be because of the changing of races. Irene is most likely the Sage of Spirit as she has power over sorcery and witchcraft, similar to the Gerudo. She is also found in a desert-themed dungeon. However, unlike the Sage of Spirit, Irene’s signature color is dark blue, a color typically associated with the element of Water. This may be because of the changing of races. Impa is almost certainly the Sage of Shadow, just like her predecessor, as she is also a Sheikah and signature color is purple, a color usually associated with the element of Shadow. Osfala might be the Sage of Light, as he is a Hylian and has a similar appearance to Rauru (being white hair and a similarly colored robe with the Triforce on it) It should also be noted that Osfala is located within a light-themed dungeon. Osfala’s signature color is also yellow, a color usually associated with the element of Light.  Now it gets confusing. The last remaining two sages are Seres and Zelda, whereas in Ocarina of Time it was just Zelda that remained. In Ocarina of Time, Zelda is the Leader of the Sages, as she is the bearer of the Triforce of Wisdom. As sages are not just biological descendants, but spiritual successors, this could mean that Ocarina of Time Zelda could have had two reincarnations: Seres and Zelda. Seres could be the spiritual successor of Zelda and is probably the Sage of Time, as she has a connection to the Royal Family and her signature color is light blue, a color usually associated with the element of Time as in the Ocarina of Time and Time Blocks. A Link Between Worlds Zelda could be the biological descendant of Ocarina of Time Zelda and is probably the Leader of the Sages, as she is the bearer of the Triforce of Wisdom. This would mean that Ocarina of Time Zelda was the both the Sage of Time and Leader of the Sages because she was already the Sage of Time, but it could be because of Ganondorf stealing the Triforce of Power that she became the Leader of the Sages. Now, to recap:

Lorule Historia
start
When reading my copy of Hyrule Historia, I started to notice how little we actually know about the other kingdoms in the series, primarily Lorule. After replaying the game and with further research of the Zelda Timeline, I have deciphered the mysterious history of Lorule.
WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!
Creation of Lorule
Since Lorule has its own parallel version of the Triforce, it is logical to assume that it has its own parallel version of the Golden Goddesses. While the attributes of these goddesses are unknown, we can theorize what they might be based on the qualities of the Hyrulean goddesses. Farore, the Goddess of Courage, is associated with the elements of forest and wind, Din, the Goddess of Power, is associated with the elements of fire and earth, and Nayru, the Goddess of Wisdom, is associated with the elements of water and ice. That being said, I can think of quite a few possibilities for what the Lorulean Golden Goddesses’ elements might be:
Since everything in Lorule is opposite of that in Hyrule, would it not be logical for the Lorulean Triforce pieces to represent the opposite element as well? Courage representing fear and cowardice, Power representing weakness and powerlessness, and Wisdom representing ignorance and foolishness. Since people fought wars over this sacred relic, it could be possible that instead of gaining the respective attribute of the piece, said person would have the ability to cast the power onto other people. I mean, if you gained the "Triforce of Fear", instead of becoming a coward, you could use its power to convert other people into cowards. I mean, who would fight vicious battles if your ultimate goal was to become an ignorant, weak coward?
This is the one that I personally believe in the most. In Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, if you are playing a linked game, Kotake and Koume revive Ganondorf using three dark flames: The Flame of Despair, the Flame of Destruction, and the Flame of Sorrow. These flames can be seen as parallels to the Sacred Flames, possibly meaning that the attributes of the flames are the same of the Lorulean Triforce’s. Courage’s parallel could be Despair, due to the fact that the respective flame is lit when the game is linked. Since Farore oversees all of the secrets, she most likely felt despair knowing that her secret left the worlds in chaos. Power’s parallel could be Destruction, due to the fact that the respective flame is lit when Din is defeated, casting destruction over the land of Holodrum. Wisdom’s parallel could be Sorrow, due to the fact that the respective flame is lit when Nayru is defeated, casting sorrow over the land of Labrynna.
Majora's Mask has its fair share of gods and goddesses, ranging from the Goddess of Time, Majora’s Wrath, the Fierce Deity, and even the Four Giants.  Ignoring the Four Giants for now, that leaves us with three deities to work with. The Fierce Deity is known by some fans as the “God of the Moon”, as he has a moon emblem on his breastplate and his mask is found within the moon. Also, when he attacks with a sword beam, it appears to be shaped like a moon. Given the fact that the moon is associated with the element of water, it could be possible that he is Nayru’s counterpart. Majora’s Wrath is known by some fans as the “Goddess of the Sun”, as during the final phase of battle, Majora’s Wrath appears to have certain feminine characteristics, such as what appear to be breasts and what sounds like a woman shrieking when she is hit. The reason she is usually depicted as a sun goddess is because when she is attacking, she uses beams of bright, colorful light. If you are not aware of the electromagnetic spectrum, let me give you a simple explanation: The sun radiates sunlight, or white light, into waves. These waves are known as the electromagnetic spectrum. The electromagnetic spectrum contains every color in the rainbow, and is why we see color. If an object appears red, it is not actually red; it is just the red light being reflected onto our eyes while the rest is absorbed. The same principle applies with all the other colors, too, unless it is black or white. If an object appears white, it reflects every color, and if it is black, it absorbs every color. The reason I am saying this is because if Majora’s Wrath actually is a sun goddess, then she would attack using sunlight, AKA the electromagnetic spectrum, which she appears to use. Given the fact that the sun is associated with the element of fire, it could be possible that she is Din’s counterpart. Finally, there is the Goddess of Time, who we do not know much about. She could possibly, just possibly, be the counterpart to Farore, as Link, the Hero of Time, is represented by the goddess Farore.
Now that we know who the Lorulean Golden Goddesses might be, we can continue. After Hyrule was created, the Golden Goddesses left the Triforce in the protection of the goddess Hylia. Afterwards, the Demon King Demise came through a fissure in the earth and tried to steal the Triforce. Hylia and her chosen hero fought Demise, sent the Hylians into the sky, and sealed Demise away. Since Lorule is a parallel to Hyrule, we can assume after the Lorulean Golden Goddesses created the Triforce, they left it in the care of Hylia’s counterpart, usually referred to as Loria of Lolia. I believe that Demise is a Lorulean, as he is stated to have come to Hyrule through a fissure, just like Link did in A Link Between Worlds. If Demise was a Lorulean, we can assume he tried to steal the Lorulean Triforce first, as it would me much easier than to steal one in a parallel universe. Firstly, since there is a Lorulean counterpart to Hylia, there has to be a counterpart to Hylia's Chosen Hero, or Ravio's ancestor. Because Hylia's Chosen Hero battled Demise using Hylia's sword, the Goddess Sword, it would be logical for Loria to have crafted a sword for her hero, too. Looking at Demise's Sword, I believe that it is the Lorulean Goddess Sword transformed. How did he get it, you might ask? By defeating Loria's Chosen Hero. After defeating Loria’s Chosen Hero, he transformed it, probably by bathing it in the Dark Flames that I talked about earlier. Now that he has killed Ravio's ancestor and transformed the Lorulean Goddess Sword into the Demon Sword, you would imagine that Loria would be in a state of panic. Just like Hylia, I believe that she sent the Lorians (or Lolians) into the sky while she and the other tribes fought him. Now if you have played A Link Between Worlds, you should know that the Lorulean Triforce was destroyed in a brutal war. Given the circumstances, I do not believe this was the war when it was destroyed, but I will talk about that later. I believe that Demise actually defeated Loria and the other tribes and stole the Triforce. As a last resort, they probably sealed him away in the Sacred Realm, not unlike Ganon, where he found the stone monument that linked the worlds together and discovered another Triforce. There he was defeated by Hylia and her Chosen Hero during the story told in Skyward Sword. After Link defeated Demise during the ending of Skyward Sword, I believe that all the damages he did to Lorule were erased, just like how all the damages done to Hyrule were erased after Link defeated Ganon in A Link to the Past. The Lorulean Triforce was sent back to Lorule, and it was at peace… for a while.
After the return of the Lorulean Triforce, people’s lust for power arose, and there was a wave of chaos. During this wave of chaos, instead of sealing the Triforce away like it was in Hyrule, it was destroyed, like it was told in A Link Between Worlds. The reason I believe that this was the war when the Triforce was destroyed is because when Hilda explains the history of Lorule to Link, she says that her ancestors destroyed it. While the first battle over the Triforce was fought against Demise and his demon army, the second was fought against the people of the land. This coincides to what was said at the end of A Link Between Worlds, so this is the most likely possibility to when it happened.
After the Triforce was destroyed, Lorule Castle was built to try to better support the people of Lorule. But as we see later in A Link Between Worlds, this is sadly done in vein.
For the sake of this theory, I will be disregarding The Minish Cap, Four Swords, and Four Swords Adventures. That said, we know that there was a timeline split somewhere along the line, so let us go to the most likely candidate for the timeline split, the Era of the Lorulean Hero of Time.
