Cannons are recurring Enemies in The Legend of Zelda series.[citation needed][1]

Characteristics

The Wind Waker

In The Wind Waker, Cannons attack Link by shooting Bombs at him. They can be destroyed by using the King of Red Lions' Cannon. Wall-mounted Cannons can be found during the second visit to the Forsaken Fortress and on the Islet of Steel, protecting their exteriors. They can also be found inside Cyclops Reef and the five similar reefs.[2] When all of them are destroyed, a Treasure Chest containing a Treasure Chart appears on one of the "eyes" inside the reefs. Cannons can also be found protecting some Lookout Platforms on the Great Sea. They can be destroyed by using the boat's Cannon or by dropping Bombs while on the platform. Treasure Chests can also appear on some Lookout Platforms when all the Cannons are destroyed.[3]

Breath of the Wild

In Breath of the Wild, Cannons can be found on the edges of Medoh's Barrier when Link attempts to board Divine Beast Vah Medoh with the aid of Teba. They attack by shooting beams. In order to destroy Medoh's Barrier, Link must destroy the Cannons using Bomb Arrows while Teba draws their fire.[1]

Once the Cannons have been defeated, Medoh's Barrier will fail. Teba congratulates Link at first.[4] However, when he notices one of the Cannons managed to hit him, he decides to fall back to the Flight Range.[5]
