Stone Watcher

From Zelda Wiki, the Zelda encyclopedia
For the similarly named Enemies, see Stone Statue.

Stone Watchers,(TWWThe Wind Waker)[1] also known as Stone Heads,(HWLHyrule Warriors Legends)[2] are recurring Objects in The Legend of Zelda series.

Location and Uses

The Wind Waker

Unlike general rocks in some locations that usually can be destroyed by bombs, Stone Watchers can only be lifted by using the Power Bracelets, and they trigger the sound effect everytime they're destroyed outside of a destruction cutscene event. None of the stone watchers throughout gameplay drop any items, nor spawn enemies from underneath (i.e. Chuchu) when destroyed. There are four Stone Watchers located on the Great Sea, most of them covering Secret Caves. One can be found in Fire Mountain blocking a shortcut to the exit. Another one can be found on Stone Watcher Island. One more can be found on Outset Island blocking the entrance to the Savage Labyrinth. The final one can be found on Headstone Island blocking the entrance to the Earth Temple.

The following section is not part of the Zelda canon and should not be taken as such.

In Hyrule Warriors Legends, Stone Heads appear blocking the path to new areas on the map. They can only be destroyed by shooting them with a Warship, which can only be activated by hitting a Switch next to them with the Hammer.
