Gohmaracas is a Boss in Cadence of Hyrule.[1]

Characteristics

Gohmaracas is the Gohma-like Boss of the Lost Swamp in Story Mode, Octavo's Ode, the past of Symphony of the Mask, and in Single-Character Mode. It was created by Octavo by imbuing a set of Maracas he found in the Swamp with the power of Earth using his Golden Lute.[2] When defeated, it rewards the heroes with the Maracas and a Heart Container. In Arena Mode, it and its arena have a chance to appear every four battles, where it must be slain to progress further and for a Heart Container. In Dungeon Mode and All-Characters Mode, it appears in its arena after three layers have been completed, where it also grants the Maracas and a Heart Container.

Gohmaracas can only be damaged by attacking its Eye. After it is damaged, it will close its Eye for several beats, making it invulnerable until it reopens it. It can only move horizontally across the top of the arena, and will stand in place for several beats to perform each attack. It is capable of firing lasers from its Eye in a line that damages anything in a line going down from Gohmaracas's Eye. The Boss is capable of firing three web balls that encase the hero in a Web that can only be broken by attempting to move. These Webs have 3 Hearts. Gohmaracas can spit partially-transparent green eggs with a single closed Eye inside them out into the lower half of the arena, which hatch into Gohmaracas Larvae after seventeen beats.[verification needed] When defeated, it becomes enraged and brighter in color, decreasing the time before each attack. In its enraged state, it shoots a spread of five web balls instead of the previous three.

If fought as the first or second of the Four Champions, Gohmaracas will be red with green accents, with one large yellow Eye. In this state, it will have 10 Hearts while in its first phase and 6 in its enraged state. If fought as the third or fourth, it will instead be dark blue with red in place of the green, with a red Eye.

Defeating Gohmaracas with only the Bow or Great Bow will award the Achievement "The Eye of Gohma".[3]
