Location and Uses

The Minish Cap

Hard Sediment appears in Secret Caves and the Palace of Winds. It requires the Mole Mitts to destroy.

Tears of the Kingdom

In Tears of the Kingdom, Hard Sediment appears all over the world, primarily in Caves and Wells. It has five variants: brown, blue, black, Luminous Stone, and Zonaite. The brown variant appears in Caves, Wells, and the Depths, the blue variant appears solely in Caves, the luminous variant appears in the Sky as well as in Caves, and the black variant appears on the Surface, in the Depths, and in Caves. The Zonaite variant only appears only in the Depths and yields Zonaite when broken. The Luminous Stone variant yields Luminous Stones when broken, and the others give Rusty Gear and Ores. All Hard Sediment obstructs Link's movement, although sometimes it is located within a wall already. Once a piece of Hard Sediment is broken, it will not respawn. The brown variant is the easiest to break, and the blue variant is weaker than the black one.
