Iwata Asks
Iwata Asks (社長が訊く Shachō ga kiku, lit. ‘The President Asks’) is an interview series conducted by Satoru Iwata, the fourth president and CEO of Nintendo, where he would interview various designers, artists, programmers, and other game developers about the creation process of many Nintendo games from 2006 to 2015.[1][2]
The interview series was transcribed on Nintendo's corporate website. It is organized chronologically and categorized by game platform including Nintendo DS, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, and Wii U titles. There are eleven interviews about Zelda games including Twilight Princess (2006), Spirit Tracks (2009), Skyward Sword (2010), Ocarina of Time 3D (2011), The Wind Waker HD (2013), A Link Between Worlds (2013), and Majora's Mask 3D (2015).
Interviews
In each interview, Iwata asks the directors about their experience and challenges facing development of various Zelda games spanning between 2006 and 2015. Typically, the subject matter would be the creation and development process of the game itself, usually done around the time of the game's release.
