"The Sludge-Covered Statue" is a Main Quest in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]
Overview
When Link first arrives in Zora's Domain, he finds that the Zora are recovering from a wave of Sludge the fell on them.[2] Nearby, Yona can be found discussing the situation with Chroma and Khira.[3] They reveal to her that they have run out of Splash Fruit while treating those affected by the Sludge and apologize.[4] Yona insists that they do not need to apologize, and she is relieved that all of the Zora have survived thus far.[5] However, she is disappointed that the Statue at the center of the Zora's Domain Square has remained covered in Sludge.[6]
Turning to Link, Yona apologizes for not noticing him sooner.[7] She explains that Zora's Domain is currently suffering due to the Sludge falling from the Sky, which has covered much of the Lanayru Great Spring.[2] In particular, she is saddened by the Statue being obfuscated by Sludge, since it is important to the Zora.[8] Although they are busy cleaning up, Yona encourages him to make himself at home.[9] Afterwards, "The Sludge-Covered Statue" will begin.
Using Splash Fruit, Chuchu Jelly, or a Hydrant, Link can wash away the Sludge over the Statue, revealing The Turning Tide. When Link returns to Yona, she will be relieved that he was able to wash the Statue.[10] She explains that The Turning Tide has become a symbol of hope for the Zora, depicting Sidon and Link himself.[11] Chroma wishes to be able to meet Link one day, noticing that the individual in front of her resembles the one depicted on the Statue.[12] After Link introduces himself, Chroma reacts with shock, which causes Khira to scold her.[13] Yona and Chroma both apologize for their behavior.[14] Yona claims that she has heard about him ever since she arrived at Zora's Domain, revealing that she is Sidon's fiancée.[15] She expresses how honored she is to finally meet him.[16]
After hearing that Link is searching for Princess Zelda, Yona invites him to investigate Zora's Domain as much as he needs to.[17] She also requests that he visit Sidon, who can be found at Mipha Court.[18] Before leaving with Chroma and Khira, Yona asks Link to meet with her when he has time.[19] Following their conversation, "The Sludge-Covered Statue" will end, and "Sidon of the Zora" will begin.
