"At Last, an Awakening" is a Movie in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.[1]

Overview

"At Last, an Awakening" plays after the party enters Fort Hateno during the Scenario "Each Step Like Thunder".

Zelda, Link, Impa, and the Diminutive Guardian run through the defeated Guardians at Fort Hateno. Suddenly, Astor appears behind them, laughing.[2] He threatens to divert Zelda's fate, unleashing a wave of power that sends the Diminutive Guardian flying backwards.[3] He summons the newly revived Blight Ganons, much to the shock of Zelda.[4][5] Link runs back to fight them off, gesturing for Impa to escape with Zelda.

Impa nods in response, taking Zelda's hand and fleeing with her and the Diminutive Guardian.[6] However, as Zelda watches him battle the Blight Ganons, she remembers King Rhoam's sacrifice and refuses to run away again.[4][7] She breaks free from Impa's grasp, and she runs back toward Link despite Impa and the Diminutive Guardian's protests.[8] She reaches toward Link as he continues his fight, and her wish to save him finally awakens her dormant sacred power.[4][9] Light erupts from Zelda, stunning the Blight Ganons and dispelling Malice from nearby Guardians.[10] Link turns back toward Zelda, and the two meet gazes.

Trivia

  • "At Last, an Awakening" resembles the Recovered Memory "Zelda's Awakening" from Breath of the Wild. Both cutscenes involve Zelda awakening her sealing power to save Link during the Great Calamity.[11] However, "Zelda's Awakening" takes place at Ash Swamp, while "At Last, an Awakening" is set inside Fort Hateno. Link is also fighting Guardians and is grievously wounded in "Zelda's Awakening", instead of the Blight Ganons he faces and his survival in "At Last, an Awakening".[11] Lastly, Impa and Terrako were not present in "Zelda's Awakening".
