A Ghini (ギーニ, Giini) is a ghostly spirit that is a close relative to the Poe. However, they resemble typical ghosts with a white body and whispy tail at the end of their being, also carrying no lantern. With the exception of their first game, Ghinis generally have one eye embedded into their head. They usually come out when someone disturbs their grave, although they are known to openly haunt graveyards for any victims to do away with. Ghini have so far only appeared in the 2-D Zelda games.
They are known to attack in groups, having a collective life force. When one is killed, all will be killed in the same instant. They can be dispatched with many weapons, but they take more hits to kill than most common enemies.
In The Legend of Zelda they are found in the Graveyard. Although a single Ghini will fly around the screen, if Link touches any of the gravestones another one will appear. They are one of the strongest overworld enemies.
Ghinis return in Link's Awakening. They are found in the Graveyard of Koholint Island. They are exactly the same as their previous incarnation, although with only one eye in the center of their head. Giant Ghinis are also present in Link's Awakening.
Ghini are also present in Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, still acting the same as their predecessors. In Ages, Ghini are shown to be quite cruel, terrorizing a lost Moosh.
In The Minish Cap, Ghini act very similarly to Gibdos, draining Link's life away if he gets too close.
