It is possible to enter the Elemental Sanctuary with the Smith's Sword, when the player is on the way out of the castle after Zelda was initially turned to stone. However, if the player enters the main room and allows the big door to close, the player will not be able to escape. This is because there are multiple buttons which require Link to create copies of himself to push those buttons to open the door (after fusing at least two elements with the White Sword). At that point, the player neither has any elements nor the White Sword, and the Smith's Sword is incapable of creating copies of Link.

The Elemental Sanctuary appears in TMC, and the entrance closes by the end of the game. However, the Four Sword Sanctuary, the altar where Vaati is sealed in FS and FSA, looks like the Elemental Sanctuary, and even contains the Four Elements on their pedestals.

Template:Place The Elemental Sanctuary is the gateway between the Minish World and Hyrule.[1] The entrance is located within the courtyard of Hyrule Castle, and opens only once every hundred years. Apparently, it is only visible to children, and as such, not many even know of its existence.

In the center of the main room stands a pedestal for infusing the Four Elements into the White Sword to create the Four Sword. A hidden room in the back also contains a set of stained glass windows which tell the story of the Light Force, the Hero of Men and the Picori Blade.

After Link defeats Vaati Transfigured at the top of Dark Hyrule Castle, he then has to defeat Vaati's Wrath in a room that can be accessed by the original entrance of the Elemental Sanctuary. After Link has defeated Vaati's final form, the entrance of the Elemental Sanctuary will close.

The Elemental Sanctuary appears in The Minish Cap, and the entrance closes by the end of the game. However, the Four Sword Sanctuary, the altar where Vaati is sealed in Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures, looks like the Elemental Sanctuary, and even contains the Four Elements on their pedestals.
