Rift
Rifts are Objects in Echoes of Wisdom.[1]
Location and Uses
Rifts are voids leading to the Still World that were created after Link defeated Ganon and rescues Zelda. They first formed when the Trident that Ganon left behind sunk into the ground, capturing Link in its path and quickly growing to encapsulate the Suthorn Ruins. After Zelda narrowly escapes, she comes to find that Rifts have appeared all over Hyrule and threaten the lives of its inhabitants.
Zelda's Fairy companion Tri is capable of creating portals to safely enter Rifts, leading to the Still World, a dimension where natural laws do not apply. Inside the Still World, certain Objects behave differently, such as Water forming Water Blocks. These Water Blocks can be copied as Echoes and summoned outside of Rifts while retaining their shape.
If two Rifts overlap, they will be separated by a light purple border.
