King's Scale

From Zelda Wiki, the Zelda encyclopedia

King's Scales,[1] also known as Marks of the King,[2] are Items in Tears of the Kingdom.

Location and Uses

King's Scales are scales taken from kings of the Zora people. As part of the "Clues to the Sky" Main Quest, Link is required to shoot a King's Scale Fused to an Arrow through a tear-shaped ring of floating stones on Floating Scales Island. To do so, he must ask for them from Dorephan within the Pristine Sanctum. Dorephan will give him a set of five, offering to replenish the supply need be.

Unlike most Materials, King's Scales cannot be sold at Shops nor to Wandering Merchants.

  1. "King's Scale
Zora kings bear this scale on their foreheads. It sparkles in different ways depending on the angle from which it's viewed. They were once used in ancient Zora ceremonies.

  2. "Ah! So you have already spoken with Jiahto! You say the mark of the king was mentioned on the stone slate that was restored? Hm... Indeed, I do know of it. The mark of the king refers to a Zora king's scale. One of my scales, in other words. I have heard it called by the name you mentioned in an ancient ritual. However, none remain who know how it was used... If this particular scale of mine may prove useful to you, by all means, take a few. There is no need for restraint! This is as nothing to me. If you run out, simply return and acquire more. Wah ha ha!" — Dorephan (Tears of the Kingdom)
