Gasha Seed

Gasha Seeds are recurring Items in The Legend of Zelda series.[1] They are used to grow Gasha Trees, which bear Gasha Nuts.

Location and Uses

Gasha Seeds are small, raindrop-shaped seeds found in Labrynna and Holodrum. They can be obtained from Treasure Chests, given by Characters, or bought from certain Shops, up to a maximum of 99 at one time. They can be planted in soft patches of Planting Spot, where they will eventually grow into a Gasha Tree, which bear Gasha Nuts.

Once a Gasha Tree's Nut has reached its final stage of maturity, Links can cut it down with his Swords to open it up, revealing a random item. The possible content of the Nut includes Magic Rings, Hearts, Fairies, Rupees, Potions, and a one-time-only Piece of Heart.

Gasha Seeds mature as Link defeats enemies. By defeating 40 enemies (or 20 while wearing the Gasha Ring), a Gasha Seed will fully mature into a Gasha Tree. The more enemies are defeated, the more likely a rare item will be found inside the Nut. Soft Planting Spot locations that are difficult to reach or hidden have a higher rate of producing rare items.

Bipin, an expert on Gasha Seeds, can give Link various pieces of advice about them.

  • "The place, planter and the planter's deeds affect what the nut produces."
  • "The contents of a Gasha Nut depend on where the seed was planted."
  • "Inside a Gasha Nut? More than anything, you find Magic Rings, but sometimes you find Rupees or Hearts."
  • "Finding new places to plant Gasha Seeds and finding secret stairways seems to be good for Gasha Nuts. And helping those in need is good for Gasha Nuts."
  • "My experience holds that planting Gasha Seeds in strange spots produces more rare and unusual results!"
  • "A traveler once told me the time it takes for a planted Gasha Seed to mature into a tree is related to how many monsters you slay. Could this be true?"

As the Magic Rings produced from Gasha Seeds are classified into five tiers,[2] each of the sixteen Planting Spot patches found across Holodrum and the sixteen found across Labrynna has a predetermined range of tiers that any Magic Rings grown from them will fall under. The ranges are: tiers 1 to 2, tiers 1 to 3, tiers 2 to 4, and tiers 3 to 5, with the higher ranges appearing less frequently. A Gasha Nut containing the Piece of Heart has the equivalent rarity of a tier 4 Ring.
