Characters in The Wand of Gamelon
List of the characters from Template:WoG, the non-canon game from the Philips CD-i.
Main Characters
Zelda
Zelda is the main protagonist in Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon, and retains her personality from Template:FoE. After her father, King Harkinian, and Link go to Gamelon after its siege by Ganon but fail to return, she and Impa depart for Gamelon to find them and to aid Duke Onkled. Zelda eventually obtains more efficient items and abilities along the way. She defeats Ganon's minions, learns of Duke Onkled's betrayal, and eventually defeats Ganon and rescues her father. Link was apparently imprisoned in a mirror that belonged to Lady Alma, which Zelda smashes, freeing him.
Link

Link retains his childish personality from Link: Faces of Evil, but has a much smaller role. He is ordered to go to Gamelon if King Harkinian does not return in a month, and does so, but is apparently imprisoned by Ganon and fails to return. While in Gamelon, he had given his canteen to Lady Alma for a kiss. This canteen was later given to Zelda. Link was sometime imprisoned inside of Lady Alma's mirror, which Zelda smashes and frees him. He seems to have no recollection of what happened. It is left unknown who had trapped Link inside the mirror.
King Harkinian
King Harkinian is Zelda's father and the king of Hyrule, who also appeared in the animated series and the Valiant Comics. He has a larger role in Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon. He goes to Gamelon to help his cousin Duke Onkled who is under attack by Ganon's evil forces, and orders that if he does not return in a month, to send Link. It is later revealed that Duke Onkled betrayed him and had him captured by Ganon. He is later rescued by Zelda, and condemns Onkled to "scrub all the floors in Hyrule" as punishment. He, Zelda, Link, and others then have a feast to celebrate his return.
Ganon
Ganon is the main antagonist in Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon. Ganon conquers the island of Gamelon with his minions. Duke Onkled joins his alliance, and betrays King Harkinian by having him captured. Ganon sends Gibdo, Hectan, Omfak, and various other monsters to defeat anyone who stands in his way. When Zelda confronts him with the light of the Fairy Lantern, he blows her away with magic. Zelda uses the Wand of Gamelon to magically summon chains to bind him, and he is inexplicably trapped in what appears to be the Book of Koridai. He swears that "you haven't seen the last of (him)."
Duke Onkled
Duke Onkled is the ruler of Gamelon and King Harkinian's cousin. He ultimately ends up betraying the King, who is captured by Ganon. When Zelda attacks his palace, Dodomai Palace, and frees the Royal Retainer, they find him and force him to reveal the location and entrance to Ganon's lair in Reesong Palace. After the defeat of Ganon, he is given to the King by the retainer, and begs for mercy. He is then sentenced to "Scrub all the floors in Hyrule (then (we) can talk about mercy)".
Impa
Impa is Zelda's nurse maid. She first uses the Triforce of Wisdom to ascertain that the King will safely return from Gamelon. When Link and the King go, but do not return, she goes with Zelda to Gamelon to find them. She essentially fulfills the role of Gwonam from Link: The Faces of Evil, by providing Zelda advice with the Triforce of Wisdom.
Boss Characters
Gibdo

Gibdo is the first boss and one of Ganon's minions. He terrorizes the town of Sakado by commanding the monsters in that area, and has his base of operations set up in the abandoned church. Zelda defeats him by using the shroud given to her by the Knitting Woman, which apparently could "scare the wraps (off of him)".
Iron Knuckle

Iron Knuckle is the second boss and one of Ganon's minions. He captures the residents of Sakado and imprisons them in Tykogi Tower, along with Mayor Cravindish and Harbanno. He threatens to kill Zelda for defying him. Zelda defeats using the Power Glove, which breaks apart his armor to reveal a Life Heart. Two Armos statues arrive and quickly decide to leave before Zelda kills them, too.
Three Witches
The Three Witches are the third bosses and are among Ganon's minions. They are obsessed with spreading evil, and have frozen the Fairy Pool and imprisoned the fairies within. They also covered the forest in darkness as well. Zelda defeats the three of them, and they are blown away by a powerful gust of wind. Their defeat frees the fairies.
Wizzrobe

Wizzrobe is the fourth boss and one of Ganon's minions. He is a greenish wizard wearing a purple robe. He captures Lady Alma, who claims that she is not afraid of him, but he then buries her in a pile of stones. He is later defeated by Zelda when she deflects his "disintegration spell" using her Reflecting Shield. He disintegrates in a blast of fire.
Hectan
Hectan is the fifth boss and one of Ganon's minions. He is a blue-clothed and haired old wizard and a loyal servant of Ganon. After Ganon captures King Harkinian, he is told to capture the Royal Retainer and holds him in Dodomai Palace. Zelda defeats him with a single sword slash, and he dissolves into a pool of blue liquid, leaving behind a beating Life Heart.
Omfak
Omfak is the sixth boss and one of Ganon's minions. He is a gluttonous shape-shifter who can morph his form between a wolf, a lion, and a giant pair of lips. He guards the Shrine of Gamelon where the Wand of Gamelon is kept. He claims that "Whatever (he) sees, (he) will devour", and demonstrates this by killing and eating a bird. Zelda defeats him, and he explodes into a flock of black birds.
Other Characters
Armos
Armos appear as enemies in Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon. Two Armos also appear as brief characters. After Zelda kills Iron Knuckle, they survey his broken armor and quickly decide to leave.
Fairies
Two Fairies who live in the Fairy Pool. They are imprisoned by the Three Witches after they freeze the fountain, but are freed once Zelda defeats them. They reward Zelda with a Life Heart, some Fairy Dust, and some Water of Life. Their design is strongly based off of the fairy artwork from A Link to the Past.
Grimbo
Grimbo is a man who lives in Washubi Swamp. He asks Zelda for some Hanyu Spores, and uses them to turn Zelda's glove into a Power Glove.
Harbanno
Harbanno is Sakado's baker. He is captured by Iron Knuckle, along with Mayor Cravendish, and imprisoned in Tykogi Tower. In the cutscene in which he is introduced by Impa, he is shown being pulled off the screen, presumably being grabbed by an enemy to be taken to the tower, while exclaiming "My cakes will burn!". Zelda frees him and he urges her to rescue the mayor, who has been chained in the tower. When Zelda visits his shop afterwards, he supplies her with free bread out of gratitude, which can be used to distract attacking Arpagos. He seems to know Link, and jokes that he could "eat ten of these (bread)."
He is sometimes nicknamed George by fans.
Hungry Girl
A girl who lives in Kobitan and complains that "those darned Moblins have eaten everything", and that she would give anything for an Arpagos Egg. When she is given the egg, she rewards Zelda with a flute.
Knitting Woman
A middle-aged woman living in Aru Ainu who isn't afraid of monsters, and claims "they know better than bothering (her)." She knits and gives Zelda a shroud that can kill Gibdo, claiming that it will "scare the wraps off (him)."
Lady Alma
Lady Alma is a woman encountered in the Shutoy Lake Tower. She is captured by Wizzrobe, although she is not afraid of him, and he buries her beneath a pile of stones. After Zelda saves her, she reveals that Link had given her his canteen in exchange for a kiss. During the game's ending, she is present after the liberation of King Harkinian, but calls Link a bore when Zelda wonders where he is. Zelda takes her mirror and smashes it, which apparently had Link trapped inside and frees him. It is left unknown who had trapped Link inside the mirror.
Lika
Lika is a woman living in Sakado who offers to make Zelda a magic cloak once she gives her some Fairy Dust. The cloak allows Zelda to temporarily become invisible, and to "give the monsters a good shot before they see (her)." Her eyes change color frequently.
Mayor Cravendish
Mayor Cravendish (/ˈkɹævəndɪʃ/ KRA-vən-dish)[1] is a bald man with a powdered wig who is the mayor of Sakado. He is captured by Iron Knuckle and is chained in Tykogi Tower's dungeon. Zelda frees him by striking the chains over him with her sword. He had managed to conceal a Magic Lantern in his coat, and gives it to Zelda for freeing him.
Myra
Myra[2] is a woman who is encountered in the forests of Gamelon. She is first found in Hanyu Forest and turns Zelda's shroud into a Magic Cape in exchange for an Arpagos Feather. Later in Nokani Forest, she gives Zelda the Fairy Lantern which can "pierce the darkness around Ganon", but also tells her that only the Wand of Gamelon can defeat him.
The Merchant
The shopkeeper of the General Store in Sakado. He sells Zelda rope, lantern oil, and bombs. He appears to be quite sinister and greedy, and seems more interested in making a profit.
In the game manual, he is named as "the merchant". He is also sometimes nicknamed Ushrom, I. Fleecem, or "the crazy shopkeeper" by fans.
Royal Retainer
A man who is the retainer of King Harkinian. He tries to stop Ganon from capturing the King, but is placed in chains by Hectan and held in a prison chamber in Dodomai Palace. Zelda rescues him and he reveals to her that Duke Onkled betrayed the King. He tells her to find Onkled by striking the portrait in the palace library to find his secret chambers. They confront him and makes him reveal the entrance to Reesong Palace. The retainer then takes Onkled prisoner before he can get away. At the end of the game, he turns Onkled over to the King.
He is referred to by Ganon as "the runt". He is also sometimes nicknamed Fari by fans.
Water Lady
A woman who is seen gathering water near the Gohma Pit in Ahitaru. She gives Zelda some Water of Life. She also tells Zelda that there is a fisherman trapped in the skull of a fish skeleton.
Yokan
Yokan is a former fisherman with greenish skin and long white hair. He is trapped within a fish skeleton in Ahitaru, but is rescued by Zelda after she blows away the rock over the skull's eye socket with ten Bombs. He thanks her and vows to never go fishing again, and leaves, telling Zelda that she will see him Sakado. There, Yokan finds a new job as a blacksmith. Zelda gives him a Heat Crystal which he fixes to her sword, turning it into the Fire Sword.
