Mutts are animals in Link's Awakening.[1]

Characteristics

Link's Awakening

Mutts are Dogs found in Mabe Village. Although not normally aggressive, they will attack Link by pouncing on him a single time if provoked, and return to a docile state after damaging him. Unlike Cuccos, Mutts will not swarm Link en masse in response to multiple attacks. In all versions of Link's Awakening prior to Link's Awakening for Nintendo Switch, Mutts can be killed by either throwing Magic Powder on them or by being hit with the Magical Rod.

If spoken to, Mutts usually will bark at Link.[2] However, if they are standing near Marin while she is singing, they will become too absorbed in her song to notice him.[3]

Other Appearances

Link's Awakening (Cagiva)

In the Link's Awakening manga by Ataru Cagiva, Link finds a Mutt while strolling around Mabe Village.
