Biography

Link's Awakening

Grandma Yahoo is an elderly woman who lives in Mabe Village with her husband Old Man Ulrira. She enjoys using her Broom and can be seen sweeping the outside of their House. If Link Talks to her, she greets him very expressively with her signature expression "YAHOO!" and asks him how he is doing.[3]

After BowWow is kidnapped, she informs Link of the situation and blames the Moblins living in Tal Tal Heights.[4] She later travels to Animal Village.[when?][5] At one point,[when?] she breaks her broom from the amount of sweeping she does.[6] Link can give her the Broom he received from Mr. Write. If he does, she will reward him with the Fishing Hook she found while sweeping the river bank.[7][8][9]

Nomenclature

Grandma Yahoo likely gets her name from the exclamation she makes at the start of her dialogue.[3]
