An Ancient Ghost Story is an Object in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]

Location and Uses

An Ancient Ghost Story is the 10th of 13 Ancient Tablets. It can be found on the Small Island within the North Gerudo Sky Archipelago. However, when Link steps into the center of the Island, the Tablet will fall down to the Vatorsa Snowfield. Link is unable to read the text on his own,[2] but during the "Messages from an Ancient Era" Side Adventure, he can show Wortsworth a Picture of the Tablet and hear a translation of its contents.[3]

Wortsworth believes that the chamberlain's account is simply a ghost story, in which a ghost resembling Zelda would appear in Hyrule Castle at night.[4] He also notes the story's similarity to sightings of Zelda since the Upheaval, and he speculates whether this could be the work of a ghost as well.[5] He gives Link a Silver Rupee as a reward for bringing him the Picture.[6] Once Wortsworth has translated all Ancient Tablets, he will post a copy of his translation of An Ancient Ghost Story to the Zonai Survey Team Base's wall.[7]

An Ancient Ghost Story

Of late have I heard it told [that] a strange lady walks around the castle in dark of night.

She and princess Zelda seem as twins two, but this one has no light in her eyes–more a dead thing than not.

When she is asked about these walks, princess Zelda of that remembers nothing.

What monster, or spirit of darkness, is this vision? So afraid I am of my imaginings that I can not sleep.
