Biography

Breath of the Wild

Palme is a Hylian who was previously traveling through the Gerudo Canyon with his friends, Sesami, Canolo, Flaxel, and Oliff.[3] However, while the group was traversing the Koukot Plateau Path, they were ambushed by a group of Monsters and became separated.[3]

As part of the "Missing in Action" Side Quest, Sesami asks Link to direct his friends to his location at Gerudo Canyon Stable.[4] Palme can be found on the Koukot Plateau Path near the archway connecting Koukot Plateau and Mount Nabooru, where he has been cornered by two Blue Bokoblins. If Link saves him, he will initially be shocked.[5] When Link confirms that he defeated the Bokoblins, Palme will be grateful and say that he might be braver than Sesami.[6] After hearing that Sesami is waiting at Gerudo Canyon Stable, Palme is surprised and wonders if he lied about his martial arts skills, but he eventually reasons that there must have been a misunderstanding.[7] He then leaves for the Stable.

At Gerudo Canyon Stable, Palme can be found sitting beside the Cooking Pot. Palme reveals that he asked Sesami why he did not rescue him, only for Sesami to start talking about the Master Sword to avoid the conversation.[8] He realizes now that Sesami is a coward.[9] To reward Link, Palme and his friends contributed to giving him a Gold Rupee.[10] Deciding that connecting with others makes them weak, the group has decided to part ways from each other.[11]

If Link speaks to Palme after completing the Side Quest, he reveals that he considers himself more cowardly than Sesami, since he waited for someone else to help him instead of helping himself.[12] This was why he decided to leave his friends, as he wants to learn how to stop relying on other people.[13] He believes that once he learns this, he will be able to help others, much like how Link helped him.[14] When Link next returns to Gerudo Canyon Stable, Palme, Canolo, Flaxel, and Oliff will have left.
