Pumpkin Stew
Pumpkin Stews are recurring Items in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2][3]
Location and Uses
Breath of the Wild
Pumpkin Stews are meals that can be made by Cooking a Fortified Pumpkin, Tabantha Wheat, Goat Butter, and Fresh Milk together in a Cooking Pot.[1] The only way to make regular Pumpkin Stew is to add ingredients to the recipe that contradict the tough effect. Link can eat them to restore some of his Hearts to his Life Gauge. These meals are favored in Kakariko Village.[1]
The Girl's Notebook, which can be found in Hateno Village, details the recipe for Pumpkin Stew. The author describes it as a secret recipe that will surprise the most knowledgeable of fathers, instructing the reader to start with some Fortified Pumpkins.[4] Next, she suggests to add Tabantha Wheat for a "wheaty flavor", and then to let the Fresh Milk and Goat Butter simmer.[5] The recipe is concluded by telling the reader they should now have Pumpkin Stew.[6]
Only one variation of Pumpkin Stew can be made:
- Tough Pumpkin Stew:[7] Made by using the default recipe. When these Stews are eaten, Link will receive a boost to his defensive abilities.[7]
Tears of the Kingdom
Two variations of Pumpkin Stew can be made:
- Sunny Pumpkin Stew:[8] Made by using Sun Pumpkins. When these Stews are eaten, several of Link's Hearts damaged by Gloom will be restored.[8]
- Tough Pumpkin Stew:[9] Made by using Fortified Pumpkins. When these Stews are eaten, Link will receive a boost to his defensive abilities.[9]
Other Appearances
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
The recipe for Pumpkin Stew is earned by completing the Quest "The Pumpkin Hunt". It is made using four Fortified Pumpkins, four Tabantha Wheat, four Fresh Milks, and four Goat Butters. However, it can be lowered to three of each ingredient through the completion of "Hungry Hunches". When prepared before a Challenge or Scenario, the Warriors will recover health for every Enemy KO.
