Soldier's Gear was equipment issued to the soldiers who guarded Hyrule Castle.[2][3][4] To this end, they are known to be of decent quality and Durability.[2][3][5]
Soldier's Gear is primarily crafted out of iron, granting it an inability to burn when exposed to Fire or a Scorching Climate.[3] They will also conduct Electricity and attract Lightning during Thunderstorms, and they will sink if they are dropped in Water. Finally, they can be picked up and manipulated with the MagnesisRune. Contradicting this, the Soldier's Bow and Soldier's Shield are constructed out of wood, meaning they are vulnerable to burning.[4][6] They do not conduct Electricity or attract Lightning, they float when they are dropped in Water, and they cannot be picked up with the Magnesis Rune.

A shield once used by guards of Hyrule Castle. It's easy to handle, but its core is made of wood, so it can catch fire.

Like most metal equipment, the Gloom has caused most Soldier's Gear items to have significantly reduced durability, but some uncorrupted items can be found in the Depths. All melee weapons from the Soldier's Gear also gain a new property that lets them charge faster (for the Sword and the Spear) or use less stamina when performing charge attacks (for the Claymore).
