Curses,[1] also known as Jinxes,[name references needed] is a status effect that Link suffers from in many games after he touches a specific type of Bubble or Fog. Once he touches one, he will not be able to draw his Sword until the effect disappears.

Appearances

The Legend of Zelda

In The Legend of Zelda, if Link touches a normal Bubble he becomes unable to use his sword. If Link comes in contact with a Red Bubble, he cannot wield his Sword until he either touches a Blue Bubble, drinks a Potion, or is healed by a Fairy.

Majora's Mask

In Majora's Mask, Link is afflicted with a Curse when he makes contact with a Blue Bubble, causing him to flash blue (be colored blue in Majora's Mask 3D) and forces him to sheath his Sword, also making him unable to draw it; however, the effect is temporary and will wear off after approximately 50 seconds.
