Great Fairy's Tears are recurring Items in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Uses and Location

Twilight Princess

Great Fairy's Tears are kept in an Empty Bottle. They are presumably full of tears that the Great Fairy has cried while praying.[3] When used, they completely refill Link's Life Gauge and temporarily double Link's strength. Their function is similar to the Elixir Soup from The Wind Waker, but unlike the soup, a bottle of these tears only holds one serving and wears off after a short time (16 seconds) or if Link takes damage before then.

One bottle of Great Fairy's Tears is given to Link by Jovani after capturing 20 Poe Souls. After this, Jovani will reveal that more can be found in the Gerudo Desert. This refers to the Cave of Ordeals, where Great Fairy's Tears are the reward from the Great Fairy after completing the cave. Clearing the cave also allows Link to receive a new bottle of Great Fairy's Tears from the Spirits of Light in their springs around Hyrule.

Link can only acquire Great Fairy's Tears from spirit springs when he has none in his inventory. Completing the Cave of Ordeals again will fill another empty Empty Bottle with Great Fairy's Tears even if Link already has a bottle of it.

Other Appearances

Hyrule Warriors Legends

In Hyrule Warriors Legends, Great Fairy's Tears appear as Drink-type Foods. They are imbued with the Light Element. When consumed by a Companion Fairy in the Dining Room of the My Fairy mode, Great Fairy's Tears can increase the Fairy's trust level and personality traits.
