Ancient Materials,(BotW)[1] also known as Ancient Parts,(BotW | HWAoC)[2][3] are a recurring class of Items in The Legend of Zelda series.

Location and Uses

Breath of the Wild

Ancient Parts are Materials that all source from ancient technology like Guardians. Ancient Parts are a type of Monster Part, and therefore can be exchanged for Mon and used to Cook Elixirs.

When Link defeats Guardians, they will drop several Ancient Parts. A number of Ancient Parts can be found in Treasure Chests in Ancient Shrines and Divine Beasts. They are also sold by the Merchant Teli, who travels between Fort Hateno and Hateno Village.

Armor Upgrades

Several pieces of Armor require Ancient Parts in order to be upgraded at a Great Fairy Fountain.

Sheikah Slate Upgrades

As part of the "Slated for Upgrades" Side Quest, Purah at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab offers to upgrade Link's Runes.[1]

Rune Cost
Sheikah Sensor 3 Ancient Screws[4]
Remote Bombs 3 Ancient Shafts[5]
Stasis 3 Ancient Cores[6]

Ancient Soldier Gear

Ancient Parts can also be brought to the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab, where the Ancient Oven can make Ancient Soldier Gear, so long as the lab's Furnace is ignited.[7] Making Items will cost Link Ancient Parts and Rupees.[8]
