Oshus's Storehouse is a location in Phantom Hourglass.[1]

Features and Overview

Oshus's Storehouse is a Cave located beside Oshus's House on Mercay Island.[2] Its entrance is blocked by a Barrel. Link and Ciela sneak into Oshus's Storehouse in order to find a Weapon to defend against the Monsters blocking the way to the Mountain Passage after the bridge to Mercay Village collapses.[3][4][5]

The Door inside Oshus's Storehouse

Oshus's Storehouse is divided into two segments. The first half is a Cave containing three Boulders and two Barrels. The rear half of the Cave is sealed behind a Door, which is controlled by a Sign beside it. The Sign is marked with a warning from Oshus to not touch anything within the Storehouse without his permission,[6] though Ciela disregards this on account of Link's urgent need to find Tetra.[7][8] According to Ciela, Oshus stored his Sword here and sealed it behind the Door.[9] She recalls that the clue to opening the Door is to write the number of Palm Trees found on Mercay Island on the Sign.[9] Upon writing the number "7" on the Sign, Link gains entry to the rear half of the Storehouse.

The back of Oshus's Storehouse

The back half of the Storehouse is separated by a short river spanned by a wooden bridge. Across the bridge, there is a lone Treasure Chest and a table with a Book offering basic information on how to handle Swords.[10] A group of four Jars sits to the left of the Treasure Chest.

Upon retrieving Oshus's Sword, Ciela tells Link that they shouldn't tell Oshus that they took it as it would only cause him to worry.[11] However, they are caught by Oshus as soon as they leave the Storehouse.[12] Ciela insists that they had no choice and could not wait for the bridge to be repaired.[13] Exhausted from their behavior, Oshus accepts the situation on the condition that he has the opportunity to teach Link how to wield the Sword inside his House.[14]
