Dark Ore is an Item in Spirit Tracks.[1]

Location and Uses

Found only in the Dark Ore Mine in the Fire Realm, the Dark Ore is stronger than Iron and costs 200 Rupees for ten pieces.[2] The ore is said to shine in the dark, but begins to disappear at a fast rate when exposed to sunlight. As such, Link must quickly transport it aboard the Spirit Train to its destination before it completely disappears.[3][4]

Link can purchase ten pieces of Dark Ore and take them to Linebeck III at the Trading Post. If Link can successfully bring at least five of these pieces to Linebeck, he will reward the young hero with Force Gem 19, which will energize new Spirit Tracks in the Ocean Realm allowing him to gain access to the Lost at Sea Station.[5] To transport the Dark Ore quickly to Linebeck III, Link must travel through the cave on the east side of the Fire Realm, where a large Rocktite and its small children lay in wait. If these monsters are able to attack the Spirit Train, some of the Dark Ore will be lost, rendering Link unable to fulfill Linebeck's request, though he will still be rewarded with 100 Rupees for the remaining pieces.

Later, if Link brings another five or more pieces of Dark Ore to Linebeck III, he will be rewarded with a random Treasure valued at 500 Rupees or more.

Trivia

  • Linebeck III's use for Dark Ore is never explained in the game.
