The Cane of Somaria is a recurring Item in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2][name references needed]
Location and Uses
The Cane of Somaria can create a single Somarian Block that Link can push and sometimes carry around. Only one block can exist at a time. This is useful to press switches or obstruct enemy projectiles.
A Link to the Past
In A Link to the Past, the Cane of Somaria is the main Item of Misery Mire, although it is mostly used in Turtle Rock. The Somarian Blocks created by Link can damage Enemies that run into them, though they cannot sustain more than five hits. Magic is needed to create blocks.
Oracle of Ages
In Oracle of Ages, the Cane of Somaria plays a similar role as it does in A Link to the Past, but without requiring the use of Magic Power. It is the main Item of the Crown Dungeon. Unlike A Link to the Past, the created Somarian Blocks cannot be detonated.
Other Appearances
Ancient Stone Tablets
Cadence of Hyrule
The Cane of Somaria summons a single Somarian Block in front of the wielder, primarily orange in color with an accent dependent upon said wielder. It can block enemy advancement, but finds much of its use in solving puzzles around Hyrule. Only one Somarian Block can be summoned at a time, and it cannot be jumped upon from ground level through use of the Rito Feather.
