The Blade Brothers appear in The Minish Cap. They hand out Tiger Scrolls to Link after he has learned the sword technique they have taught him. There are eight in all.
The Brothers
Greatblade
Greatblade's Dojo is opened by fusing Kinstones with Waveblade in Lake Hylia. Behind the waterfall, inside, he'll teach Link to hold a Great Spin Attack for longer. Greatblade will only teach Link this technique after Link has been taught by Swiftblade the First.
Splitblade
Splitblade teaches Link to charge his Four-Gauge faster. He can be found by fusing Kinstones with Grimblade, who will open a waterfall in Veil Falls.
Scarblade
Scarblade's Dojo is revealed by fusing Kinstones with Grayblade. It's under a waterfall in northeast Castor Wilds. He'll teach Link to charge a spin attack faster.
Grimblade
Grimblade can be found in southeast Hyrule Castle Garden under a patch of grass. Link has to find the Flame Lantern and light his torches before he can be taught the Sword Beam technique.
Waveblade
Waveblade is found in a dojo in a tree south of the Temple of Droplets and west of the Mayor's Cabin in The Minish Cap. It is here that Waveblade teaches the Peril Beam technique to Link, and he can also upgrade the Great Spin by fusing Kinstones. In order to access this, Link must have the Flippers. Waveblade will not train Link unless he has ten hearts or more.
Grayblade
Grayblade is a sword trainer in The Minish Cap. His dojo can be found on Mount Crenel, and he teaches the Roll Attack. Grayblade can only teach Link when he has fused the Smith's Sword in the Elemental Sanctuary.
Swiftblade
Swiftblade is a denizen of Hyrule Town in The Minish Cap. He is the eldest of the Blade Brothers. He lives in the dojo at Castle Town, and is the main master throughout the game. While other Dojos only have one skill to teach, he has four which are unlocked upon gaining more items and abilities. These techniques can be reviewed in the Tiger Scrolls.
Along with teaching new techniques, he also writes 'The Swordsman Newsletter', after fusing Kinstones with the right person.
The four skills which Swiftblade teaches are:
- Spin Attack (after completing the Deepwood Shrine)
- Dash Attack (after finding the Pegasus Boots)
- Rock Breaker (after finding the White Sword)
- Down Thrust (after finding Roc's Cape)
Swiftblade I
The spirit of Swiftblade the First's Dojo can be found in the southwest of Castor Wilds beneath a tomb. Link will need the Pegasus Boots to reach it, and for the spirit to teach him anything, the young hero will also need to know all seven other techniques. Only then will Swiftblade the First teach the Spin Attack to Link.
Some fans believe that the Hero of Men who appears in the stained glass in The Minish Cap is in fact Swiftblade the First.
Trivia
- Although the figurine and game only feature eight Blade Brothers, in the Swordsman Newsletter, Swiftblade claims that "There are nine of us, not counting the ghost of Swiftblade the First."
