Face Shrine (Location)

From Zelda Wiki, the Zelda encyclopedia
This article is about the location. For the Dungeon, see Face Shrine.

Face Shrine is a location in Link's Awakening.[1]

Features and Overview

The Face Shrine is a region on the eastern side of Koholint Island, although prior to Link's Awakening for Nintendo Switch it formed the northwestern section of a larger region that also encompassed the Shrine Waterfall in the east, and the Ancient Ruins to the south. The Face Shrine is made up of four pieces of land: the area containing the Face Shrine itself and the Face Keyhole; a small island with a lone Armos, covering Stairs that descend into a Cave leading directly to the Shrine; the northwest portion of the Shrine Waterfall's landmass, containing a Great Fairy Fountain inside a Cave; and a small strip of land on the Shrine's south side.

Initially Link can only pass through a small passage along the southern edge. The rest of the area can only be accessed after navigating a small maze in the Shrine Waterfall to the east.
